Book 4 My Boyfriend Knelt
Before Me for Three Times
Teon has knelt before me three times.
The first was at our wedding when he got down on one knee to put the ring on my finger.
The second was when I discovered his infidelity; he dropped to both knees, begging for my forgiveness.
The third is now, as he kneels on the ground, clinging to my legs, looking up and pleading with me to visit the hospital to see the other
woman.
“Lyn, please, Hiral says she can’t forgive herself if you don’t go. She won’t go into the operating room no matter what.”

Seeing my silence, he hastily adds:
“Lyn, the child is innocent. Even if you can’t stand Hiral, she’s carrying my child.”
“Yeah, isn’t she carrying your child?”
I stood there, watching him grip my clothes, tears slipping down my face.
My husband wanted me to visit the hospital to see the woman carrying his child. It felt like a cruel joke.
“I’m not going.”
I yanked my coat from his grasp and hurriedly tried to leave this absurd scene.
But then my mother–in–law rushed over and grabbed me.

“Lyn, please, I’m begging you. I know this is Teon’s fault, but Hiral is carrying Teon’s child. For the child’s sake, please come to the hospital and see her. If you refuse, I’ll even kneel for you.”
I quickly stopped her from bending down. They clung to me, one holding my arm, the other my leg, like chains trapping me and suffocating me.
“Lyn, please, just a quick visit. Hiral said. she’ll only go into the delivery room if she sees you.”
Teon crawled to me, pleading for me to go to the hospital for their child’s arrival.
My mother–in–law watched anxiously, holding her bag, ready for us to leave.

I could refuse Teon, but I couldn’t bear to see my mother–in–law kneel before me.
“Fine. I’ll go,” I said, closing my eyes, resigned to my fate.
“Great, great! Teon, go get the car. We’re heading out now. Hiral is waiting, hurry!”
Once I agreed, they gleefully dragged me out the door, speeding all the way to the hospital.
“Lyn, do you forgive me?”
As soon as we entered the room, Hiral struggled to sit up, looking at me like a hopeful rabbit.
“Oh, sweetie, lie down. You need to conserve your energy for the delivery,” my mother–in–law rushed over to support her.

“I won’t lie down unless Lyn forgives me,” Hiral said stubbornly, staring at me, needing
an answer.
“Come on, Lyn wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t forgiven you. Lie back down; don’t risk hurting the baby,” my mother–in–law reassured her as if she were her own daughter.
“I don’t believe it. I want Lyn to say it herself,” Hiral cried, banging on the bed like a child denied candy.
“Lyn, just say it, forgive her.” My
mother–in–law looked at me, her eyes a mix of apology, awkwardness, and above all,
worry.
She was worried something might happen to her future grandchild.

“Yeah, Lyn, just say it. Just once, Teon urged, standing beside me, though his eyes never left Hiral since entering the room.
“I forgive you.”
Under everyone’s expectant gaze, I finally spoke. Hiral sighed in relief, lying back down. Teon could finally rush to her side, holding her hand, asking if she was okay. My mother–in–law looked on happily, constantly reminding the nurse to be careful.
Anyone who saw this scene would think they were a happy, loving family.
But only I knew the truth. That was my husband, my mother–in–law, and the woman who’d intruded on my marriage.
And in that hospital room, I was the outsider,
