During all this, Thorne was on the phone with Wendy, who was laughing uncontrollably on the other end. “Who told him to try and poach projects from you? What a fool to squander his wealth so foolishly. He’s probably seething, yet he’s blissfully unaware he’s been played.”
Thorne’s lips curled into a wry smile. “He invited this upon himself. After his actions, a simple apology won’t suffice.”
Wendy curiously inquired, “And what about your wife?”
Thorne chuckled softly. “She knows better than to worry. Next up is Cassian’s turn. If he has any sense, he’ll back off. If he insists on causing trouble, I’ll have no choice but to step in.”
