I’d barely received news of a possible lead when I shit off the couch and beaded towards the front door, I didn’t care if none of us were prepared and had no chance to gather supplies. I wanted to leave now. Aware that time was of the essence right now, as anything could’ve happened to her in my

Though i’d been a month since the track had left town and all signs of tire tracks were gone, luck was still on our side. A local Tom Riddle clearly remembered the vehicle we were talking about having found it funny. As it turned out there’d been a tarp over the back of it and he could’ve swor that it was moving. He simply thought that the man had struck an injured animal and wanted to take care of it. This in itself assured me we were on the right track, knowing it was Yon in the back of that truck. “Stay alert.” I warned my men in the mind link, aware of the shitstorm we were about to walk right into. “The Dark Lands are no laughing matter. Don’t trust anything or anyone you see. All you are is food to them.”
No one argued.
Stepping over the boundary that’d kept my kingdom safe for centuries, I walked back into the Dark Lands. The desolate wasteland I’d known during my youth, the trees were withered and broken, the ground charred. Only the oressional patches of green could be found, as if the goddess herself had forgotten the land. No life survived this place. At least not life worth mentioning.
