Chapter 178: Mr. Cassius: Our First Meet
Gemma finally snapped out of it.
“Oh, no, it’s just that I have something to take care of myself.”
Brian looked at her with a hint of worry.
“If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask, alright?”
“Yeah, I’m not an idiot.”
“If I can’t handle it, I’ll definitely bother you,” Gemma said, trying to sound casual. “Alright, let’s start moving stuff.”
Dermatology Office
A man in a gray shirt and khaki pants started raising his voice.
“What? Hematology department too?”
“Are all the doctors in this city so hard to deal with?”
“You should thank god you’re a woman, a pretty one. Or, I’d seriously smack you around.”
He paused, as though a thought hit him, and a sleazy grin spread across his face.
“I get it now, you must be into me.”
“You’re trying to get my attention this way, right?”
“Hmph, women in this city are all so… horny. Come on, take off your white coat, let me have a look!”
For patient privacy, the room typically has two doctors and one patient-
One doctor for the examination, the other for notes and prescriptions.
But just a moment ago, the doctor handling the notes stepped out for a break, leaving only the female doctor in the room.
Dr. Sarah, in her early thirties, had flawless skin and a striking beauty, making her one of the most well–known doctors at the hospital.
She came from a well–off family, had a good character, and was well–liked by everyone at the hospital.
She’d never had to endure this kind of humiliation before.
“Drogo Kelestine, right? You’d better head over to psychiatry,” Sarah said, shaking with anger as she immediately called security.
Drogo burst out laughing, showing off his yellowing teeth.
“Whoa, what’s this? Oh right, you’re trying to impress me.”
“Honestly, I’m getting hard.”
Sarah was on the verge of tears from anger.
But facing this degenerate, all she could do was scream for help.
Outside, more patients heard and rushed in.
Drogo tried to lunge at her, but he was quickly pinned down by several people.
Security arrived just in time, hauling him off, and the police were called.
Shaken but relieved, Sarah took the rest of the day off to rest at home.
He didn’t expect to go out just in time to see Drogo getting into a police car.
Just moments ago, he had been so smug.
Now, he was stumbling under the weight of the officers, his legs barely able to carry him. It took him a good ten minutes to cover what should have been a short distance.
Dragged along by the cops, he looked pathetic,
Sarah couldn’t help but feel a bit of satisfaction.
“Serves him right!”
Later that Afternoon.
Gemma had taken the day off and finished packing her things before heading out of work.
She’d been so busy all day that she hadn’t caught wind of the gossip floating around the hospital.
But as soon as the stepped outside, the chatter was enough to make her skin crawl.
“That guy was out of control! He pretended to be a patient just to get close to Sarah.”
“Our hospital really needs to up its security.”

“That guy was just a lowlife. Don’t even know where he came from.”
“His name’s Drogo, huh? I can already tell by the name what kind of guy he is. All these men are so full of themselves.”
“Good thing he got arrested.”
Gemma stopped in her tracks. “Are you sure his name was Drogo”
The others recognized her and, thinking she was just another bystander looking for gossip, eagerly began explaining.
They told her about Dr. Sarah’s ordeal and summed up Drogo’s identity.
“Not sure about his last name.”
“Just remember it started with a K.”
“Dr. Kelestine, don’t worry, they’ve already caught him.”
Seeing Gemma’s pale face, they assumed she was shaken by the news.
After all, Gemma was one of the hospital’s top beauties.
“He got arrested?”
Gemma’s eyes widened. “When?”
“I heard from the receptionist—it was around 11 this morning.”
Gemma glanced at her watch.
It was already 3:30 PM.
Her shift had just ended.
If it was really Drogo, the police had likely already contacted her family by now.
Her registration was still at her hometown, and though her phone number had changed, people from back home always seemed to find her.
If Drogo had truly been arrested, the cops would have called her by now.
She’s probably just overthinking,
She had only just gotten rid of those people, she shouldn’t be paranoid, or she’d get bad anxiety herself first.
“Dr. Kelestine, are you okay?”
“Yeah, totally fine.”
She gave a weak sinile,
“I’m just worried about Dr. Alexander. I hope she’s alright.”
The others nodded sympathetically.
“Dr. Alexander is really going through it.”
“Some people are even saying Dr. Alexander did it on purpose,”
“Yeah, they’re asking why it was only her, not anyone else. Bullshit”
Gemma’s heart still felt heavy, so she tuned out their words and left the hospital.
Cassius’s car was waiting outside.
As soon as he saw her, he honked.
She snapped out of her thoughts and quickly walked toward the car.
Cassius rarely drove himself, and this was his personal car. The air inside had a crisp, cool elegance to it that made her feel instantly comfortable, The atmosphere seemed to ease her nerves.
“Not feeling great?”
Cassius asked as he slowly pulled out of the parking lot.
Gemma shook her head.
“There was a disgusting man at the hospital today, trying to hit on Sarah. I’m just a little worried.”
Cassius gently reminded her, “You’ve got bodyguards with you all the time.”
“Right!”
Gemma imunediately felt better.
What was she even worried about?
Even if Drogo and Dan showed up, with Cassius’s bodyguards around, evading them would be a piece of cake. She gazed out of the window, admiring the beautiful sunset as the car made its way up the insuntain road.
The golden light bathed them, almost like a glowing pointing unfolding before her eyes.
The distant mountains were bathed in shades of green, rolling and connected as if a continuous, beautiful landscape.

Her mood began to lighten.
“I didn’t realize there was such a beautiful view near N.L. City,” she said, surprised.
Cassius cracked the window, letting the cool breeze flow in.
Her hair danced in the wind as she smiled, her face glowing in the golden light.
Cassius glanced down at the leather cord on his wrist, remembering the words of the pastor from long ago:
–“All connections, destined by fate.”
“Gemma.”
“Hmm?” Gemma stretched out her hand, savoring the refreshing mountain air.
“What’s the name of your hometown mountain?”
Gemma’s hand froze.
That place.. she didn’t even want to think about it, let alone return.
Cassius continued looking ahead, sensing her hesitation. Then, without waiting for an answer, he suddenly asked her.
“Is it Mount Zephyria?”
Gemma blinked, and a flood of long–buried memories surged to the surface.
