Cecilia shrugged, thinking Kian might be even more of a scoundrel than Lancelot.
As they reached the office door, they found Tamsin standing there, looking flustered.
Seeing them come out, she seemed even more flustered.
Kian raised an eyebrow. “Hey there. What are you doing here?”
Tamsin immediately recognized Kian. According to some insider info, Kian would be subbing in the graduate classroom these days. Plus, at the banquet that night, Kian had spoken up for Cecilia at the entrance of the hall.
Tamsin looked at the book in her hand, and an idea popped into her head. She lowered her gaze and said, “Mr. Coleman, I have a few questions about some topics.‘
She hadn’t been in the mood for classes these past few days, having Gia sign in for her. Occasionally, she would go to the library to work on exam questions. Coming here was just an excuse to secretly check on Cecilia.
Unexpectedly, she saw Kian and Cecilia sneak into the office. She tried to overhear something, but the office’s soundproofing was too good.
“Really? You’re asking me?” Kian looked shocked. His grades were good, but he wasn’t a genius!
He looked at Cecilia and patted Tamsin’s shoulder. “Cecilia will help you out.”
Cecilia was speechless. She glanced at Tamsin and asked, ‘Is there something you need?‘
Tamsin didn’t dare meet Cecilia’s eyes. Ever since she failed to seduce Julian, she felt even more guilty facing Cecilia.
“No… nothing.” Tamsin said quickly and left in a hurry.
She gritted her teeth in anger, her heart filled with resentment. Kian didn’t even remember her! She had clearly always been around Julian. Did rich people even see people like me? And Cecilia had definitely seen through her act. Humiliated, she ran.
Watching Tamsin run away, Cecilia sneered. Then she returned to the classroom, handed out the notes, and the bell rang, but the seat next to her was still empty. Lancelot, with his status and privilege, treated class as optional.
In this class, Kian ended up talking about some finance–related topics, at least not chatting the whole time.
As soon as the bell rang, Cecilia grabbed her bag and left the classroom. She hadn’t gone far when a woman tapped her on the shoulder. ‘Cecilia, is this your phone?”
Cecilia paused for a moment, then turned around to see her classmate, Tatum Williams, smiling at her while holding her phone.
Cecilia nodded. “Yes, it’s mine.”
She remembered that Tatum wasn’t much older than her.
‘Good thing I found it. I didn’t try to unlock it. Make sure to keep it safe next time.” Tatum handed the phone back to Cecilia and said, “We don’t have classes this afternoon. Want to grab a bite?”
Cecilia thought for a moment and said, ‘Sure, I’ll treat you as a thank you for finding my phone. What do you want to eat?”
Tatum was beautiful, wealthy, and smart. Knowing more people like her would be beneficial for Cecilia’s future control of the Medici family.
‘We’ll decide later. Come with me, I’ll give you a ride on my scooter. Tatum smiled brightly.
They sped to a unique hotel, which had an overly romantic decor, almost entirely heart–shaped designs, and the room designs on display were quite varied. It wasn’t hard to guess what kind of place it was.
Seeing this hotel, Cecilia frowned. She wasn’t naive about her classmates‘ motives, but being tricked into coming here still stung.
‘Let’s go in.‘ Tatum linked arts with Cecilia and walked in.
“Okay.” Cecilia smiled. Tatum deftly entered the room code, letting Cecilia in, but she turned and left, even winking at Cecilia before she went.
Cecilia wasn’t surprised as she had expected this.
She looked at the man inside and said, “Mr. Elikin, you went to great lengths to get me here. It can’t be just to have a meal, right?”
Lancelot sat on the sofa, the dim, ambiguous lighting casting a dreamy glow on his handsome face. But his metallic outfit really broke the romantic atmosphere.

He gave a wicked smile, full of aggression, and Cecilia felt a strong sense of oppression.
He said, “You’re Julian’s wife. I feel it’s only fitting to provide a truly special welcome for you.”
