Chapter 4
The image showed Alpha Justin walking away, leaving me collapsed on the ground.
The caption beneath it read: “All–powerful pack members, help me expose this scumbag! His mate just lost their pup, and when things didn’t go his way, he heartlessly rejected her and abandoned her!”
The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth, but I swallowed it down and denied the accusation. “You’ve got it all wrong.”
Joey sneered. “Wrong? Don’t think I don’t see through your little scheme! You heard that Alpha Justin is bonding with me as his Luna, and now you’re panicking!”
She folded her arms, her voice dripping with

disdain. “You’re an Omega, yet you have no shame. Faking a miscarriage just to gain sympathy? How pathetic can you be?”
It was already humiliating that Alpha Justin had dismissed me so coldly, denying everything between us. But now, Joey- his soon–to–be Luna–had gone as far as to kidnap me and hurl insults at me.
Did they really think I was that easy to trample on?
Summoning every ounce of strength I had left, I shoved her foot off my face. Caught off guard, she stumbled and fell.
Fury flashed across her face. She raised her hand, about to slap me–but then hesitated. Instead, a twisted smile spread across her lips, sending a chill down my spine.

“Sara,” she said, her tone mockingly sweet. “As a female wolf, I know you have feelings for Justin. Let’s see just how much you really mean to him.”
Dread settled in my stomach.
Before I could react, Joey struck her own face–twice, hard enough to leave angry red marks. Then, right before my eyes, she slipped off her Luna’s bonding ring and forced it onto my finger.
Still not done, she dragged her nails down her own arms, leaving deep, bleeding scratches. Finally, she turned to the masked man and ordered, “Tie me up.”
Tears welled in her eyes as she faced me, her voice trembling with false vulnerability.
“Sara, did you bring me here just to kidnap

and humiliate me?”
At that exact moment, the door burst open with a loud crash. A tall figure strode in,
his silhouette stark against the light. Even before I saw his face, I knew–it was Alpha Justin.
A lump formed in my throat, and despite everything, I whispered, “Justin…”
But he didn’t even glance at me.
He rushed straight to Joey, untying her restraints and pulling her into his arms. His voice was gentle, full of concern. “Joey, are you okay?”
He cupped her bruised cheek, his expression dark with worry.
Once upon a time, he used to look at me

like that. But ever since Joey returned, I had become invisible to him.
His gaze swept over her, and when he spotted the scratches on her arms, his entire demeanor shifted. His face twisted in fury as he turned on me.
“Sara! Who gave you the right to hurt her?” he roared.
Joey clung to him, her eyes red and brimming with unshed tears. She let out a pitiful sob and murmured, “Justin, don’t be mad at your sister–in–law. She has feelings. for you, so it’s only natural that she resents me. Luckily, you got here in time, or I don’t know what would’ve happened…”
As she spoke, the masked man took advantage of the chaos and slipped away unnoticed.

But Alpha Justin didn’t care. His rage was focused entirely on me. Without warning, he struck me across the face.
His voice was laced with disgust. “What kind of sister–in–law harbors feelings for her brother–in–law and makes a fool of herself? You might not care about your reputation, but I have mine to protect!”
Joey pressed a trembling hand to her chest as if she were heartbroken. “Sara… could you please return the ring? It’s the bonding ring Justin gave me. If you give it back, I won’t hold this kidnapping against you.”
Her swollen eyes gleamed with satisfaction, despite the pitiful act she was putting on.
I saw through her game.

Silently, I yanked the ring off my finger and tossed it at Alpha Justin’s feet.
Then, meeting his gaze head–on, I said in a cold, unwavering voice, “I don’t like you, and I have no interest in playing along with your Luna’s pathetic act. Take your damn ring and get lost.”
Alpha Justin’s face darkened. His expression turned stormy.
“Sara, pick up the ring and hand it back to my Luna! Apologize to her!” he demanded.
A bitter laugh escaped my lips.
He was the one at fault from the very beginning, yet he had the audacity to demand an apology from me?
“She’s the one who dragged me here. If

anyone should apologize, it’s her!” I shot back.
His jaw clenched. “Sara, I’ve spoiled you for far too long.”
His voice dropped to an icy, authoritative tone. “Fine. Don’t apologize. But you’d better go to my brother’s grave and think about whether you’ve honored his dying wish for me to take care of you.”
A sharp pang stabbed through my chest.
He was right. If I was truly leaving, I owed it to Levi to pay my final respects.
At the cemetery, I knelt before Levi’s gravestone while Alpha Justin stood behind me, watching. Joey, nestled in his arms, shot me a smug glance before they turned and walked away together.

Rain started to fall.
Without a second thought, I booked the next available pack flight.
As the pack plane was preparing for takeoff, I reached for my medical documents.
My stomach dropped.
The folder was missing.
That folder contained everything- my prenatal checkup records and the miscarriage report.
Just then, my phone buzzed.
Alpha Justin’s name flashed across the
screen.

The moment I answered, his voice came through, low and urgent.
“Sara… tell me the truth. Who’s the wolf that
got you pregnant?”
