Chapter 9
No matter how much my friend Amy tried to convince Alpha Justin to leave me alone, he refused. He stayed by my side all day, caring for me with remarkable patience. However, without proper care from the pack healer of Jones Pack, my burn wounds started showing signs of infection, and I developed a high fever. My worsening condition forced Alpha Justin to take me back to our Pack.
His decision caused a huge stir. No one expected Alpha Justin to cancel his bonding ceremony with Joey and leave the territory to bring me back. He even announced that he wanted me as his Luna. Those who once mocked me for losing his favor fell silent.
But none of this made me happy.

Alpha Justin neglected Pack duties to stayy by my side, cooking my meals, washing my y clothes–doing everything himself. It almost t felt like things were returning to how they once were, but deep down, I knew that could never happen again.
Now, I was just a caged Luna, trapped in the golden prison he had built around me.
He showered me with gifts and flowers every day, each one carefully chosen. He even took full control of the bonding ceremony arrangements. Marrying me had become an obsession for him.
His kindness confused me. Was he trying to make amends for his past mistakes, or did he truly love me?
If he truly loved me, shouldn’t he respect my decisions?

He spent a fortune on treatments to make my scars nearly disappear. But a heart that had already died couldn’t be revived.
When Alpha Justin proposed with a ring, I refused him coldly. “Don’t waste your time. I won’t bond with you.”
His brow furrowed, clearly confused. “Haven’t I been good enough to you? Why can’t you see my sincerity?”
“If I didn’t love you, why would I go against the entire Pack just to be with you?” he asked, his voice full of conviction.
His declaration of love didn’t affect me at all.
“Justin, I told you before, we’re even now. That night was just a mistake. Why are you making such a big deal out of it?”

“Sara, do you really feel nothing for me?”
His intense gaze searched mine, desperately hoping for a sign of hesitation. But I remained expressionless. “No. Nothing.”
The hand still holding the ring dropped weakly to his side.
“Is it because of the pup? If our pup were still here, would you still love me?”
I looked at him, my tone flat. “If that will help you move on, then let’s say it was because of the pup.”
His grip tightened on the ring before he turned and walked away.
For days, he didn’t show up.

When his head warrior called me for help, I was packing, preparing to leave again.
“Luna, Alpha Justin is drunk and causing a scene at the bar. We can’t control him. Can you come talk to him?”
I scoffed. “Don’t call me that. If you can’t handle him, what makes you think I can? If it’s that bad, call the enforcers.”
The warrior pleaded, and the sound of shattering glass echoed through the phone.
I sighed, glanced at the time, and decided to
- go.
At the bar, Alpha Justin was in a brawl with another drunken warrior, both of them covered in bruises.
When I arrived, the entire bar fell silent, all

eyes on me.
Ignoring the stares, I grabbed Alpha Justin’s arm in the middle of a punch. “Have you had enough?”
Bloodshot eyes locked onto me as he growled, “Sara, he insulted you! I have to rip his throat out!”
It turned out Alpha Justin was furious because someone had accused me of using underhanded methods to rise in the Pack
ranks.
But what they said wasn’t entirely false. If it weren’t for that reckless night and the pup, he would likely still be bonded to Joey.
Under my gaze, Alpha Justin finally calmed down.

I took him to the Pack Clinic, where he exaggerated every little injury, hoping to gain. my sympathy.
In the past, even seeing him frown would make my heart ache. But now, despite his genuine injuries, my heart only tightened momentarily before returning to its cold. indifference.
“Justin, let go of yourself, and let go of me, too.”
As the Pack Doctor stitched him up, Alpha Justin stopped his complaints and allowed the blood to flow silently.
Our eyes met for a long while before he sighed in resignation. “Fine. But can you not leave?”
So, he knew all along.

“I can’t stay,” I replied.
…Then let me take you,” he said.
After his treatment, he took me to the pack airport and accompanied me back to Prescott Pack.
“If
you ever change your mind, I’ll be waiting
for you.”
I never looked back.
The End.

When I got food poisoning, he called me, and in no time, a whole house full of anti–diarrheal meds was delivered.
During my period, he–unbelievably–went to get me sanitary pads.
When my ruthless boss verbally tormented me until I cried, Alpha Jason broke down in a firefight, tears mingling with blood.
One day, Alpha Jason couldn’t take it
anymore.
Through clenched teeth, he growled, “Be my mate, so we can enjoy twice the pleasure!”
