Chapter 263: Gemma Won’t Get a Single Cent from the Doltons
Even if Ashton were a fool, he’d know something was off by now.
His face darkened, eyes locked onto Gemma with a murderous glare, like he wanted to tear her apart.
She didn’t flinch. In fact, she smirked.
“Oh, Dolton, you’re such a sweetie.”
“We made it so obvious, and you still didn’t notice.”
Ashton’s jaw twitched.
His fingers flew across the keyboard.
The code was still running.
Everything seemed fine.
And that was exactly why it wasn’t.
Because Gemma was right here–in the room–while the security feed still showed her crew miles away.
His fingers trembled.
Something clicked in his mind.
He snapped his head up to look at her again, disbelief written all over his face.
Impossible.
No way.
She was just some country girl!
How could a girl with a hoe and a dirtbag accent outsmart him? A tech god?
No. No. No!
His temples throbbed.
He gripped the monitor until his knuckles whitened.
Gemma watched him unravel like a frayed wire, her smile patient.
When he was on the verge of a full meltdown, she finally spoke, her tone almost amused.
“When you hacked our hospital’s system, the firewall locked onto you instantly.
You thought you controlled everything?
Honey, we were playing along. We gave you just enough rope to hang yourself.
It only took a few minutes.
Everything after that? A liule game time.”
She smiled.
“Oh, and another thing–you’re such a pain.”
“The dean and I staged this whole ‘surgery crisis‘ to keep you busy.”
“That way, you’d stay here, and we could operate in peace.”
“Oh, and actually–thanks.”
She delivered the final blow with a smirk.
“Thanks for beta–testing our new security system. Thanks to you, we have full confidence in our firewall now.
Honestly, the director should give you an award for being such a helpful citizen.”
Ashton’s face turned red with rage.
Blood pressure? Skyrocketing.
Ele had always been a genius. Anything he touched, he mastered.
In the world of tech, he was untouchable.
Failure was possible in other areas. But in computers? He was a legend.
And yet-
He got played. By a tiny, insignificant hospital.
And the worst part?
Even now, he had no idea at what point he lost control.

His rage was laced with fear.
If their system could take over his computer without him realizing-
Whoever built it was at least a hundred times better than him.
For the first time, he didn’t even have the desire to fight back.
Because he knew–challenging them would be humiliating.
But still he couldn’t accept it.
Someone like him. reduced to a joke.
A prodigy, now a fool for everyone to mock.
The sheer humiliation crushed him.
His chest tightened. His body couldn’t take it.
And with a violent cough, blood sprayed from his mouth.
Right then, the police stepped forward.
“Ashton, you need to come with us.”
Robin’s face remained indifferent, but the onlookers murmured in shock.
Everyone knew Mr. Dolton’s name.
A man people looked up to.
And now? Gemma had him so furious he literally coughed up blood.
Iconic.
Gemma, mission accomplished, stepped beside Cassius.
“Did I overdo it?” she asked playfully.
Cassius’s voice was low.
‘Like a peacock at a disco.”
Gemma’s cheeks turned pink.
“Really?”
Cassius’s eyes glinted. “What do you plan to do with him?”
“Let the law handle it.” Gemma exhaled, steadying her emotions.
Cassius didn’t respond.
The Doltons weren’t the kind of people who could be taken down by a simple legal process.
Ashton, now in cuffs, was led out of the hospital.
Gemma finally let out a breath. “Let’s go check on Mr. Chavez.”
“Mm.”
Cassius gave Ashton one last glance before following her.
The Doltons‘ Residence.
The elderly couple received the news almost immediately.
Kaiya, on the other hand, was completely clueless.
“Where were you when your uncle got arrested?”
Madeline’s voice was sharp, her expression colder than ever.
She had raised Kaiya for years, but this was the first time she looked at her so seriously.
Kaiya hesitated, her nerves creeping up.
Carefully, she explained how she had been sent away—though she conveniently left out anything that might make her look bad.
From her version of events, Ashton had merely hacked the hospital and sent her away to keep her out of trouble.
But in reality, that only proved Ashton knew exactly what he was doing. Premeditated crime.
Jonathan sighed, rubbing his temples. “Call Jarrett. Now.”
Kaiya quickly nodded.
“Yes! Grandma, Uncle Jerry’s a lawyer. He’ll get Uncle Ash out.”
Madeline shot her a sharp look, eyes icy.
Kaiya immediately shrank back, trying to make herself invisible.

A long silence.
Then Madeline let out a deep sigh and pulled out her phone.
Jarrett, after hearing what happened, didn’t hesitate to start making arrangements.
Only after the call ended did Madeline relax a little.
“What a disaster.”
“Her mother gave us endless trouble for years, and now she’s grown up, found her real family, and is back to torment us again.”
“If I’d known this would happen, I never would have come to N.L City.”
She clutched her chest in frustration.
Jonathan sighed deeply. “Charlotte insisted on her adventures back then. If she’d just agreed to the arranged marriage, our family would be on an even higher level today.”
Kaiya’s mind was spinning.
Charlotte Dolton had refused an arranged marriage and disappeared, which led to her mother, Abigail, taking her place.
According to Abigail, Kaiya’s father, Cole, had never moved on from Charlotte.
If he found out Charlotte had a daughter, he might chase her all the way to N.L City.
Kaiya could only hope Uncle Jarrett arrived soon–fixed everything–so Gemma would be stuck in N.L City forever, and always a Kelestine.
As long as Gemma stayed here, she’d never get her hands on the Doltons‘ fortune.
Kaiya had worked too hard for too long. Not a single cent would go to Gemma.
