City’s Spotlight: The Hidden Wife of CEO
Chapter 25 He Saw Everything
Elizabeth was about to lose it.
She yelled, “Michael, you creep! Why would you do that?”
In contrast to her hysteria, Michael remained remarkably calm.
Michael smirked, “If I didn’t, how would I know what you did to me while I was out cold? If I didn’t watch it all, I wouldn’t know you act all frosty during the day but go wild on me at night.”
He looked at her and continued speaking slowly and deliberately,” Besides, it was you who was naked in the video, not me. And now you wanna blame me?”
As he spoke, he displayed a look of disdain, his eyes roving over her body. “Besides, your body’s not even that great.”
“Michael! You jerk! Shut up!” Elizabeth snarled.
Michael just remarked calmly, “You asked first.”
Elizabeth bolted with embarrassment again. She ran back to her room and hid there all afternoon.
By dinner, her stomach was growling. She had no choice but to come out to eat.
She stood at the dining room door, peeking in.
Susan was setting the table.
Seeing Elizabeth at the door, she smiled and called out, “Mrs. Thomas, dinner’s ready.”
Elizabeth reluctantly walked over and sat down.
Michael, already seated, glanced at her indifferently.
Elizabeth thought, ‘What are you looking at? Haven’t you seen it all before?‘
The thought that he had seen her entire body just crept her out, making her embarrassed to the extreme.
She didn’t dare to look up at him while eating.
After dinner, Michael left like nothing happened and let the bodyguard wheel him to his room.
Elizabeth suddenly thought she wasn’t at a disadvantage, either.
Even though he had seen her naked, she had almost seen him naked, too.
After all, when she was cleaning Michael’s body, he was nearly nude.
And she had seen his body more directly and in more detail, and she even touched him.
Thinking this, Elizabeth felt instantly balanced.
Meanwhile, Michael sat quietly in his room alone.

Just now at the dining table, although he pretended to be indifferent he had smelt Elizabeth’s scent, the same scent which he caught in his occasional consciousness from his months‘ coma.
He had even felt her gentle touch on his body.
He actually remembered all of that clearly.
He even thought that he hadn’t entirely rejected what she did to him
Early the next morning, Michael went to the office.
His assistant, Daniel, came in with a stack of documents for him to gn.
Michael reviewed and signed each one, then handed them back.
Daniel, holding the documents, didn’t leave.
He glanced at Michael’s expression and carefully said, “There’s been talk that the new CEO of The Jones Group, Elizabeth, might not be as dumb as people think. Why else would she take over a sinking ship instead of just selling it off? Why not just enjoy her inheritance? 1 heard she called all the major banks and investors in Aurora Bay, but they all turned her down. Some didn’t even let her finish speaking. I also heard that the industry isn’t optimistic about The Jones Group’s new product launch. Her path ahead is gonna be rough.”
Michael remained calm and said nothing.
Seeing no reaction, Daniel left with the documents and disappointment.
As soon as he stepped out of the CEO’s office, Matthew eagerly approached him, “So, did you tell Mr. Thomas?”
His curiosity was written all over his face.
Daniel sighed, “I spilled everything. But Mr. Thomas? Totally stone–faced.”
Matthew chuckled, giving Daniel a pat on the shoulder, “Daniel, you’re still green. Wanna bet? Even though Mr. Thomas acted all cool, he’s probably already scheming a way to help Elizabeth on the down–low.”
Daniel looked at Matthew like he was nuts, “No way. I’ve been by Mr. Thomas’s side for years and I’ve never seen him give a damn about a woman. Even with Margaret, he treated her just like the rest of us.”
Matthew just smirked, “Wait and see,” and walked off, leaving Daniel scratching his head.
Elizabeth had been hitting the books hard, catching up on her thesis.
She’d put The Jones Group investment drama on the back burner for now.
She needed to get her thesis approved first, or graduation was gonna be a nightmare.
For her, school was still a big deal.
Given the current situation of the Jones Group, she couldn’t end up with nothing to show for it.
She had to nail at least one thing.
Since the investment seemed like a long shot, she decided to focus on what she could control.

She was flipping through some materials when her phone buzzed.
Elizabeth picked it up and saw it was a local number she didn’t recognize.
She swiped to answer.
“Hello.”
“Hello, is this Ms. Jones from The Jones Group?”
“Yeah, it is. Who’s calling?”
“Hello, Ms. Jopes. You can call me Mr. F.”
Elizabeth frowned.
This guy wouldn’t even give his real name and sounded like a scammer.
“So, Mr. F, what do you want?” she asked, confused.
“Ms. Jones, I’m really interested in your company’s new product. I’d like to learn more. If I’m satisfied, I’ll invest to bring it to market, Mr. F explained.
Elizabeth thought this was a scam. How could a new product that had consistently been ignored by investors suddenly attract someone who was genuinely interested?
She was about to hang up when the guy suddenly got desperate, “Ms. Jones, I’m serious. To show my sincerity, send me your payment code. I’ll transfer a deposit first.”
Feeling the sincerity, Elizabeth’s interest was piqued.
The caller gave Elizabeth an email address and, at the same time, Elizabeth sent her payment code.
In less than 10 minutes, her phone buzzed again.
She had just received a million bucks.
Elizabeth closed her thesis page with a bit of excitement.
She picked up her phone and double–checked the number and the information.
Her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her. It was indeed a million dollars.
If this guy could drop a million without blinking, he had to be loaded.
Elizabeth thought, could it be that she was lucky? This guy wasn’t a scammer and was really here to invest as he might be really
interested in it?
To be safe, Elizabeth decided to run this by Charles.
So she called Charles and gave him the lowdown on this investor.
Charles was floored on the other end of the line.
He couldn’t believe that just when the Jones Group’s bankruptcy seemed inevitable, someone would swoop in to invest.
