Chapter 26
Cindy didn’t even flinch at Missy swords. She just sat down and stained a logbook, used for registering unannounced visitors, in front of Misey
Then, she calmly said to Teddy, Mr. Miller, make sure she signs in. have a meeting to attend.”
Teddy broke out in a cold sweat, thinking, Damn, she’s tough to deal with too!
Seeing that Missy was about to blow up, he quickly closed the logbook and put on an even more ingratiating smile. Ms. Forbes, you’re absolutely right, I’ll make sure to report this to the CEO and have it dealt with seriously!”
How could this be dealt with?
Cindy was just following the rules; what’s the problem with that?
“That’s more like it. Missy nodded in satisfaction, turning to gloat at Cindy, only to find that she had already left.
She didn’t care much, thinking Cindy would be fired soon anyway.
What she cared more about was whether the news of her firing an employee would spread throughout the company.
If it did, wouldn’t every employee at York Group have to treat her with utmost respect?
Teddy led her to the elevator. “Ms. Forbes, let me take you up. The CEO is busy, so you might have to wait a bit.”
“No problem, at least you know how to behave, unlike some people.” Missy, holding her belly, followed Teddy into the elevator with an air of superiority.
He wanted to seek Ronald’s advice on what to do next.
But Ronald was in a meeting. If he barged in, he’d definitely get scolded.
But if he didn’t take Missy up?
He feared not only Missy’s scorn but also that the situation would escalate, disrupting his colleagues‘ work. So, he had no choice but to take Missy up..
Missy sat on the sofa in the top–floor office, as if she owned the place.
Teddy brought a cup of warm water and placed it in front of her. “The CEO is in a meeting. Please wait a moment.”
Teddy was about to return to his office when Missy called him back.
“I don’t like plain water. Don’t you have orange juice? Freshly squeezed, preferably.”
Missy smiled as if it was the most natural request, looking at Teddy with a condescending gaze.
A stiff smile settled on Teddy’s face. There was only coffee and tea available in the break room. Worried that Missy, who was pregnant, shouldn’t drink those, he thoughtfully brought her a cup of warm water.
And now she wanted freshly squeezed juice?
Why didn’t she just buy some herself if she wanted to drink it?

Suppressing the curse that almost slipped out, he nodded. “We don’t have freshly squeezed juice in the break room. I’ll go out and get some for you.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he dashed out like he was being chased by a dog, not caring about Missy’s reaction.
Fortunately, Missy appreciated his quick compliance and didn’t make any more demands.
Ronald emerged from the meeting room with a stern face, his temples throbbing with pain, making him irritable.
As soon as he returned to his office, he saw Missy lounging on the sofa, scrolling through short videos.
His tone immediately turned cold. “Why are you here?”
Missy’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly put away her phone, tidied her hair, and looked at Ronald with her big eyes.
“I called you, but you didn’t answer. I was worried about you!”
Ronald’s tone grew more impatient, but seeing Missy’s pregnant belly, he forced himself to calm down a bit, though his headache worsened. “I was busy working. I didn’t have time to answer your call
“Is your work really that urgent?*
Missy’s heart trembled. Only then did she notice Ronald’s pale, sickly face. She stepped forward to support him, but he dodged her. “If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t make a scene in the office.”
Missy pouted, feeling a bit wronged. When Ronald didn’t say a word to comfort her, she dropped her act.
“After I separated from Elsie a few days ago, she didn’t return to the old mansion. Ronald, do you know where she is?”
Ronald’s already throbbing head felt like it was splitting.
Elsie didn’t stay at the Forbes Villa?
Where was she then? Was she with that Bruce?
She hadn’t even divorced yet and was already eager to sleep with another man?
Ronald thought, ‘Elsie, you’re something else!”
Ronald snapped, “I don’t know! If you want to know where she is, just call her. Why come to the office and cause trouble?”
Missy’s face turned pale, looking at Ronald in disbelief. She couldn’t believe he was speaking to her so harshly.
Missy said, “Sorry, I’m wrong. I’m leaving.”
But Ronald left before she did.
“Do as you please. I have work to discuss with someone else.”
In the car, Ronald closed his eyes to rest, but the more he thought about it, the more something felt off. He suddenly opened his
eyes.
His sharp gaze startled Teddy, who had been quietly observing Ronald through the rearview mirror.
He asked softly, “Mr. York, is something wrong?”

Ronald’s cold, harsh velce rang out. Find out where Elsie stayed last night
Teddy immediately moulded and contacted a reliable private investigator they often worked with. In less than twenty minutes, lie had the information.
Seeing the message from the investigator, Teddy felt a wave of panic Ronald was going to lose it!
Sure enough, as soon as he mentioned Bruce’s name, Ronald looked distressed.
“That Bruce again?” Suppressing his anger, Ronald said coldly, “Investigate Bruce’s background. I want to know what kind of man Elsie is so taken with.”
In just ten minutes, the investigator had more information.
Learning that Bruce was just an ordinary doctor, Ronald’s frustration lissipated.
Even his headache eased a bit.
Elsie went through all this trouble to divorce him for a poor doctor?
He couldn’t wait to see when Elsie would regret this!
Teddy, still observing Ronald through the rearview mirror, was stunned.
What was going on?Since when did Ronald care so much about Elsie
Wasn’t Ronald usually the one most annoyed by Elsie?
Suppressing his confusion, he asked softly, “Mr. York, do you want to take any action against Bruce?”
Ronald shook his head, a knowing smile playing on his lips. “He’s just a doctor. Not worth my time.”
