Chapter 30
Ronald’s anger had unknowingly dissipated a bit.
Just then, he noticed Elsie, who had been sleeping soundly, suddenly furrow her brows, tears welling up at the corners of her eyes as she cried out in pain and suppression.
He was stunned for a moment, a wave of heartache surging within him. His hand instinctively reached dut to wipe away her tears.
The next second, Elsie grabbed his hand. “Don’t go! Please don’t go stay with me, okay?”
Hearing Elsie’s murmuring voice, Ronald’s curiosity was piqued.
What on earth was Elsie dreaming about?
Why did she look so pained, and why was she crying?
Could it be that she was dreaming about him?
Ronald’s heart warmed. Could it be that Elsie’s cold demeanor and harsh words towards him were all an act?
Was she intentionally trying to hurt him to vent her own frustrations?
Why would she do that? Didn’t she love him the most?
He tightened his grip on Elsie’s hand.
But then, a sudden memory of Elsie arranging for someone to rape Missy flashed through his mind.
He quickly calmed down. Elsie was indeed a cold–blooded woman.
Using such means to hurt him, to gain his attention, wasn’t that hard to understand actually. He ruthlessly pulled his hand back and strode out of the room.
The next day, Elsie touched her tear–soaked pillowcase, recalling the scenes from her dream, and couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness, tears threatening to fall again.
She had dreamt of Cedric’s death once more.
Even though so much time had passed, those moments felt as if they had happened just yesterday.
She opened the locket on her necklace, revealing Cedric’s youthful and handsome face.
A bitter smile appeared on her lips. Cedric would forever remain in that passionate and beautiful age, leaving her alone to slowly
age.
Just then, her phone buzzed incessantly. Elsie picked it up to find a multimedia message from an unknown number.
She opened it to find nearly ten pictures.
The images were filled with countless luxury items, and the sender’s intention to flaunt was blatantly obvious.
Elsie immediately knew who the sender was.

Chapter 30
Missy must have realized that isle had blocked her and used a new huber to send the rupeating things
(Elsie, Jork, these are all gifts from Ronald. And there’s the ring you wanted for so long, the shy Bonald never bought for you?]
Seeing this message. Ettie scrolled through the photot again until she found the ring Missy mentioned
It wasn’t designed by any famous international designer, nor was it from a renowned luxury brand. It was just an ordinary ring. priced at a mere hundred thousand dollars.
She could easily afford it herself, but she had never thought of buying it for herself.
She had repeatedly hinted to Ronald that she wanted it, hoping he would buy it as a gift, which would make her very happy.
However, Ronald never had any intention of buying it for her.
He might have even joked about it to Missy, otherwise, how would she know about it?
The reason she wanted the ring was simple.
It resembled the ring Ronald always wore, and together they would look like wedding rings.
At the time, she desperately wanted to move on from Cedric’s death and was determined to marry Ronald.
But contrary to her expectations, Ronald was indifferent.
So they never had wedding rings.
The regret ultimately became the very thing that ensnared her after the marriage.
But now, she didn’t need it anymore.
Because of her piano practice, she couldn’t wear any rings, as they would affect the flexibility of her fingers.
Her hands had been severely injured back then, and even the slightest burden would have an impact.
She quickly skimmed through Missy’s messages.
They were mostly about how Ronald had told her they were in the divorce cooling–off period and that Elsie should disappear and stop bothering Ronald.
The first time she saw such messages, she felt hurt. Now, she felt numb, even finding Missy annoying for not coming up with something new.
But Ronald was indeed eager. They had just divorced, and he was already telling Missy about it?
No wonder he had given Missy a supplementary card, allowing her to spend freely.
In all their years of marriage, she had never even touched his supplementary card.
In comparison, she truly was a complete loser!
The door knocked, and Elsie walked over to open it, finding Bruce standing there.
Elsie, do you have time today? If it’s okay, let’s do a full–body checkup.”

Chapter 30
“I’ll assess your condition to proceed with further treatment.”
Elsie naturally agreed. She nodded and gestured, Bruce, can you wala moment? I just woke up and haven’t freshened up yet.”
She gestured while a slight blush of embarrassment appeared on her face.
She had woken up late due to the nightmare.
Bruce smiled gently, “Sure, I’ll wait for you in the clinic.”
After a series of examinations, the results came out quickly.
Aside from some old, difficult–to–treat ailments, Elsie was generally healthy.
Especially her vocal cords, which were intact.
This further confirmed Bruce’s theory that Elsie’s inability to speak was due to psychological reasons.
Elsie sat on the clinic sofa, much more relaxed than before.
She looked inquisitively and gestured rhythmically, “So if I follow the treatment plan, I’ll be able to speak again?”
Bruce nodded, his face showing even more joy than Elsie’s.
“Yes, once you overcome the psychological barrier, speaking is just a matter of time.”
“Because you haven’t spoken for years, your voice might sound strange at first, so you’ll need to practice a lot.”
“You can already make some simple sounds. You can practice whenever you have free time.”
“Don’t feel embarrassed; everyone goes through this.”
Seeing Bruce’s warm and confident expression, Elsie’s previously anxious heart gradually calmed down. “Thank you, Bruce.”
“We’re friends, aren’t we?” Bruce smiled gently.
