On the other side of town, in a swanky apartment filled with the faiscent of perfume, Missy tapped her freshly painted red nails on the table repeatedly The thythm was like a death knell, driving lik nuts.

“No, I have a meeting tonight.”
Ronald refused without hesitation. Just thinking about Missy gave him a headache.
Missy bit her lip. She couldn’t let this go on.
She had to take action. Clutching her stomach, she let out a pained cry.
“What’s wrong? My stomach hurts so much.“
Missy’s voice was weak and tearful. “Ronald, can you come over and keep me company?”
She pretended to be in unbearable pain, hoping to elicit Ronald’s sympathy.
There was a moment of silence on the other end. Just when Missy thought Ronald might relent, he spoke coldly, “I have Teddy send someone to take care of you.”
The call ended, and Missy, furious, threw her phone to the ground.

Missy wasn’t satisfied with just smashing her phone.
She grabbed a crystal ornament from the table and hurled it to the ground, shattering it into pieces.
Sharp shards of glass embedded themselves in the expensive carpet.
“I’m so mad!” Missy grabbed a framed photo from the table and smashed it, sending glass flying everywhere.
The nearby maid trembled in fear.
“Ms. Forbes, please calm down. Be careful not to hurt yourself.”
An older maid bravely stepped forward to persuade her, only to be slapped to the ground by Missy.
“Who do you think you are? How d dare you lecture me!”
Missy’s crimson nails dug deep into her flesh.
The sharp pain did nothing to alleviate her rage.
She collapsed onto the sofa, trying to steady her breathing.
After a while, she finally calmed down, her eyes dark and menacing.
Ronald wasn’t like this before. She muttered to herself, recalling Ronald’s former tenderness.
Back then, Ronald wasn’t exactly passionate, but at least he was considerate and would meet some of her demands.
But now, he was increasingly dismissive, not even bothering to pretend.
An idea suddenly flashed through her mind, ‘Could it be because of Elsie? That mute!”
Ronald’s attitude had changed so drastically in the past few days. Could it be because he had been in contact with Elsie again?
Elsie was like a persistent ghost, still clinging to Ronald even though their divorce was almost finalized.
