Chapter 10
My brother didn’t ask what I left for Alpha Manfred. He knew I wouldn’t tell.
The truth was–I couldn’t.
If he ever found out about the pup I lost–the one whose father chose another woman’s lie
over our truth–he would lose it. And I didn’t want him to burn down the world. Not yet.
The night I ended up in the hospital… gods. I still smell the bleach and blood. I was curled up in that too–white bed, my wolf whimpering deep inside, while Alpha Manfred–my supposed mate–was out parading Jessica around.
He didn’t even text. Not a damn word.

And that’s when I knew.
To him, I was disposable.
Hell, maybe we both were. Me and the pup.
See, people who are truly loved? They get reckless.
Jessica dared to fake a pregnancy to trap an Alpha.
Alpha Manfred dared dismiss the possibility of my pregnancy to chase his white lie.
In the safe, Three things.

- Discharge papers – Cold. Clinical.
“Miscarriage: severe emotional distress compounded by physical trauma.”
No, I didn’t keep it a secret out of forgiveness.
I kept it because timing is everything.
Because guilt is a rot that blooms in silence.
And regret? Regret is the wildfire that
follows.

My pup will not be forgotten.
Within days, the headlines exploded:
“Jessica Bell Sued for Tax Evasion–Brands Drop Her!”
Alpha Manfred filed for divorce immediately.
The tabloid storm that followed was glorious. Even all the way over here in Shadow Crown Pack territory, I got live updates from my wolf trainees.
Apparently, Jessica fought tooth and claw to keep the marriage–probably because without the Alvarado name, she couldn’t pay her breach–of–contract fees to all those luxury brands.
But Alpha Manfred, finally slapped awake by her lies, the loss of his title, and the pup he

never knew he had?
He snapped.
Then the final blow came. Like a silver bullet to the ego:
“Silver Claw Pack Ousts Alpha–Manfred Alvarado Removed!”
Dethroned. De–everything.
My brother’s voice was grimly satisfied when he called. “He’s searching for you. Worldwide.”
I looked out the window at the training grounds, where a couple of adolescent wolves were trying to outdo each other in mid–air flips. “Let him search,” I said.
“We’ve blocked every lead,” he added. “No

one from Eclipse Pack has talked.”
“Of course not.” I smiled. “They love me more than they ever tolerated him.”
“And his old friends?”
I snorted. “Deleted the day I signed the divorce papers.”
Manfred might’ve been a strong Alpha once, but he forgot one very important rule:
You don’t discard your mate and expect the pack to stay loyal.
And me?
I wasn’t just his ex–wife. I was the Luna who walked away.
Why keep ties with someone you’ll never see
