Chapter 5
When the sounds of the hospital’s emergency alarm went off, Alpha Howar and his companions rushed over.
On the ground lay a mangled corpse, battered beyond recognition from the violent impact of the fall. The face was so severely damaged that it was impossible to discern any features.
However, the on–duty nurse confirmed that it was indeed the woman who had been kneeling in the hospital lobby.
“I saw her get into the elevator, but I didn’t pay much attention to where she was going. It wasn’t until I noticed the elevator had been stuck on the eighteenth floor that I realized something was wrong. By the time I tried to

go up and check, it was already too late…”
Cheryl, seemingly traumatized, trembled as she threw herself into Beta Lewis’s arms.
“It’s so scary, Brother Lewis. How could Zelda have felt this way…?”
Beta Lewis didn’t respond, his gaze intensely focused on the corpse, then quickly shifted to Alpha Howar.
Alpha Howar stood there, looking lost and disoriented, as if he didn’t know where he
was.
After a moment, he suddenly walked toward the body, his steps unsteady, and collapsed onto his knees.
At the same time, a single, glistening tear slid from the corner of his eye, merging with

the blood–soaked ground below.
Across the street, parked inconspicuously, was a black van, its windows reflecting the neon lights and the indifferent expression on my face.
Alpha Howar’s tear was just another drop in the dirt, failing to reach my heart.
Zelda was gone for good. The people standing before me would inevitably pay the same painful price that I had.
“Let’s go.”
I took a deep breath and instructed the driver to start the car.
The man in the black suit sitting next to me unexpectedly spoke up.

“That man looks really upset; perhaps you’ve mistaken him.”
“Beta Ezra.”
I turned to him, my tone cold.
“You’re just my father’s designated
assistant. Stick to your responsibilities, and refrain from commenting on things you don’t understand.”
My arrogance didn’t anger him; instead, he nodded respectfully.
“Understood, Miss.”
I fell silent, leaning back in my seat, watching as the world outside slowly receded until it disappeared from view. Exhausted, I finally closed my eyes.

When I awoke again, I was at the Blue Moon Pack.
Before I could open the car door myself, a pair of hands had already pulled it open, revealing a loving yet aged face.
“Zelda, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault. I should have brought you back long ago…”
This was my father, Alpha Jordan of the Blue Moon Pack.
I felt entirely unfamiliar with him.
Having grown up in an orphanage, I could hardly believe I had a relative in this world until he suddenly found me two months ago.
At that time, I was engulfed in extreme fear and insecurity after being violated, putting all my trust in Alpha Howar, who had become

my only lifeline.
So when my father secretly reached out to me, I didn’t feel joy; rather, I held a deep resentment.
I hated him for abandoning me to the orphanage, for not finding me sooner….
Even though he tried to explain his reasons, I refused to acknowledge him and coldly sent him away.
But a father’s love is silent and forgiving. Worried that I might be hurt again, he left me his contact information, urging me to call him if anything happened.
Back then, I was so confident that with Alpha Howar beside me, I would be safe from
harm.

Little did I know, my initial intention to soften towards my father was merely a means to escape Alpha Howar.
Only by distancing myself from him could I gather my father’s strength to take my revenge.
Now, in my father’s presence, I felt a long–lost sense of comfort, sobbing in his arms until my tears subsided.
When he learned of the severe trauma my body had endured, he was both furious and heartbroken, immediately arranging for doctors to conduct a more thorough examination.
To my shock, the results revealed that my uterus had indeed been removed!
“Who did this?! Zelda, tell me who performed

this surgery on you!”
My father shredded the examination report in a fit of rage, his anguish threatening to overwhelm him.
I was equally stunned.
During my time in the Blood Moon Pack, Tyra had explicitly told me that my uterus was intact!
Could it be… Tyra lied?
But why would she deceive me? Everyone in the Pack spoke highly of her integrity, claiming she was a straightforward Elder. Why would she fabricate a report to harm me?
I couldn’t understand. Yet I knew there was a significant secret lurking beneath the

surface, so I asked Beta Ezra to investigate.
A few days later, Beta Ezra came back with astonishing news.
“Cheryl is Tyra’s daughter?!”
I stared at the documents he handed me, almost unable to believe it.
But Beta Ezra was meticulous; he wouldn’t make a claim without solid evidence.
Moreover, the fraudulent examination report indirectly confirmed her motive for harming me–she wanted to protect Cheryl.
But if Cheryl was her daughter, why had she been raised in Alpha Howar’s household all these years?
And why had she ignored her own flesh and

blood? It didn’t seem logical.
As I pondered, my father suddenly picked up a photograph, his eyes widening in disbelief.
“Flora? How could it be her?!”
Both Beta Ezra and I were taken aback. “Dad, do you know Tyra?”
“Tyra? I only know her as Flora from her youth. This is what she looked like; I’d recognize her anywhere!”
My father seemed on the verge of losing control, his body trembling with intense
anger.
“Zelda, this woman is the one who tore us apart! What’s more, she’s responsible for your mother’s death!”

“What?”
The more I listened, the more confused I became.
“Dad, what happened? What truly occurred in the past?”
