The room was thick with tension, the air heavy with the weight of unspoken accusations and simmering anger. Kael’s smug expression lingered, his eyes locked on me as if daring me to falter. But I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. I stood tall, my shoulders squared, and my gaze steady as I addressed the room.
“Since it has come to this,” I began, my voice cutting through the silence like a blade, “I think it is. time we discuss the rogues.”
Kael’s smirk faltered for a fraction of a second, his eyes narrowing as he processed my words. He had expected me to crumble under the weight of his accusations, to be left disheveled and defenseless. But I wasn’t the same Lilac once he knew.
“You are right,” Kael said, his tone dripping with mockery.
“We should start interrogating your brother for the incident.” His words were a challenge, a test to see if I would break. But I didn’t flinch.
“That won’t be necessary,” I replied, my voice calm but firm. I turned to Alpha Asher, who was watching the exchange with a furrowed brow. “And to answer your question, Alpha Asher, we have already started Ezra’s training. You will see a glimpse of what my brother is capable of.” My smile was soft, but my tone left no room for argument.
Luna Queen Cassandra’s sharp voice cut through the room like a whip. She probably didn’t. expect this reaction either.
“You must be out of your mind, Lilac. Didn’t you hear Kael?” Her eyes burned with anger, her lips curled into a sneer. “Your brother has been associating with rogues. This is not something we can ignore.”
I met her gaze head–on, my expression unwavering.
“I did hear him, my Luna. But I’m afraid he doesn’t have the full information.” My voice was steady, but my heart was pounding in my chest. This was it the moment I had been preparing for. I couldn’t afford to falter now.
I glanced at the guard standing at the edge of the room and gave him a subtle nod. He understood immediately, disappearing through the doors without a word. The room fell into an uneasy silence, the tension thickening as everyone waited to see what would happen next.
A few moments later, the guard returned, dragging a wolf with his hands bound in silver chains and his head covered with a black cloth. The murmurs began almost instantly, whispers of confusion and curiosity rippling through the room.
“What is the meaning of this?” Alpha King Darius demanded, his voice sharp with annoyance. His piercing gaze bore into me, but I held my ground.

the faces of the alphas, lunas, and betas gathered there. “This is the man my brother was seen with in the pictures.”
I stepped closer to the bound figure, my movements deliberate and confident. “I’m sure you’re all curious to see who he is.”
With a swift motion, I pulled the black cloth from his head, revealing his face. The room erupted in gasps, the sound echoing off the walls. Kael’s face paled, his smug expression crumbling as he realized the tables had turned. Didn’t think the situation would turn this way, did you? I thought, a small smirk tugging at the corners of my lips.
“My dear little brother,” I began, my voice carrying through the stunned silence, “wanted to surprise me with an old video game we used to play together. It was his way of cheering me up after everything had happened recently.” I paused, letting my words sink in. “So, he found this wolf on the internet and arranged to meet him to get a USB drive with the game on it.”
I turned to Ezra, who was sitting quietly beside Dad, his face a mixture of guilt and determination. “But when he met him, he had his suspicions. So, he contacted the man again. and, with the help of a few trusted friends, captured him on his own and brought him to dad’s office for questioning.”
The room was silent, every eye fixed on me as I continued. “You see, this man has the normal scent of a werewolf, just like us. But if you look closely…” I stepped closer to the rogue and pulled down the high neck of his shirt, revealing the tattoo on his neck. “He is a rogue who has learned to have his scent. And thanks to my willy
little brother, we caught him.”
The murmurs began again, louder this time, as the alphas and lunas processed the revelation. Kael’s jaw dropped, his confidence shattered. The alpha king’s expression darkened, his jaw clenched as he stared at the rogue. Luna Cassandra was silent for once, her usual sharp tongue rendered useless by the unexpected turn of events.
“Now the question is,” I said, my voice rising above the murmurs, “how many of them might be living among us, feeding on crucial information, noticing our every move? This is a serious threat, and I assume we need to increase our patrols, especially on the south border.”
“The south border?” an alpha interjected, his voice filled with skepticism. “But that area is perfectly safe. There’s no need for increased patrols there.”
“Indeed,” I replied, my tone sharp. “And that’s exactly why we’ve slacked on patrolling that area. It’s the perfect way in for the rogues.”

The room erupted into chaos, the alphas and lunas shouting over each other as they tried to make sense of the revelation. Questions flew through the air, accusations and demands mingling with the growing tension. But I wasn’t done yet.
I stood at the center of the room, my heart pounding but my expression calm. The weight of their gazes was heavy, but I refused to back down. This was my moment, my chance to prove that I was more than just a young beta female. I was a Blackwood, and I would do whatever it took to protect my family and my pack.
“Silence!” Alpha King Darius’s voice boomed through the room. cutting through the chaos like a

“Lilac,” he said, his voice low but filled with authority, “you’ve brought forward a serious issue. But how do we know this isn’t just a ploy to distract us from your brother’s involvement with rogues?”
I met his gaze, my expression unwavering. “My king, I understand your skepticism. But the evidence speaks for itself. This rogue was caught red–handed, and his tattoo proves his allegiance. If we don’t act now, we risk letting more of them infiltrate our kingdom. Is that a risk you’re willing to take?”
The room was silent, the weight of my words hanging in the air. Alpha King Darius studied me for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then he nodded, his decision made. “Very well. We will increase patrols on the south border and investigate this matter further. But if this turns out to be ja fake news, Lilac, there will be consequences.”
I nodded, my heart pounding but my resolve unshaken. “Understood, my king.”
As the meeting continued, the tension in the room remained high. Kael sat in silence, his expression dark as he avoided my gaze. Luna Cassandra was equally quiet, her sharp tongue silenced for once. The alphas and lunas continued to murmur among themselves, their voices filled with unease and suspicion.
