“Wow, is this the woman the CEO of Shaw Group was looking for? Her body is something else.”
“Looking like that, isn’t she just a prostitute?”
“How much for a go?”
“So this is what rich people play with. Can I get a discount?”
My social media was flooded with vulgar comments, and people started digging up my personal information.
My breathing became increasingly rapid.
I had fled abroad, why wouldn’t they just leave me alone?
Soon, my personal information was exposed.
Many people were surprised to find out I was the young lady of the Anderson family, but this didn’t stop the online attacks.
“So the young lady plays around this much.”
“Rich people sure are open–minded.”
I locked myself in my room, refusing to go out. Our family business also suffered some reputational damage because of my situation.
My parents and Felix didn’t give up on me. Instead, they contacted various connections to clear my name.
Felix even made a stern statement to the media:

“Miss Anderson is my fiancée. I won’t allow anyone to slander her. If I find anyone still spreading rumors online, I will sue them to the fullest extent of the law.”
After this, the online comments quieted down considerably.
Felix stayed with me from morning till night, worried about me.
“Felix, don’t be so good to me. I’m not who I used to be.”
“Mia, I won’t allow you to talk like that. You’re still you, the you I love.”
My eyes were red as I looked up at Felix. His gaze was exceptionally determined.
“But how can I face standing beside you now?”
I lowered my eyes, full of dejection.
“Mia, you just need to marry me. As for the rest… leave it to me.”
For some reason, these words made me feel particularly at ease.
I agreed to get engaged to Felix.
On that day, Felix announced this to the world and used his family’s influence to take down all the exposés about me.
When Lucas saw the news, he trashed his hotel room.
He thought this would make that man back off, but he never expected Felix to directly choose to get engaged to me.
On the day of the engagement ceremony, the Anderson and Parker families sat below the stage. There were no other guests.
Just as it was about to begin, the doors suddenly burst open.
Lucas barged in.
“Mia! I won’t let you marry him!”
Lucas looked disheveled, his beard unshaven for days.
“Security!”
Several security guards rushed forward to restrain Lucas.
But Lucas, eyes red with urgency, shook off the guards and charged straight towards me.
Felix protected me behind him but was knocked down by Lucas’s charge.
“Lucas Shaw, have you gone mad?!”
Lucas grabbed me, intending to drag me away.
I frowned deeply, forcefully shaking him off.
“Mia Anderson, you’re the one who’s gone mad! Is it because I went on a trip with Rachel instead of accompanying you? You’re marrying someone else over such a trivial matter?”
Lucas’s veins were bulging, his face as black as the bottom of a pot.
“Trivial? Lucas, do you still not understand why we’ve come to this point?”
Lucas’s eyes were filled with rage, unable to hear any of my explanations.
“Stop making excuses for falling in love with someone else. Mia Anderson, you’re nothing but a complete fraud.”

Lucas kept hurling insults at me.
I could no longer contain my anger and slapped him hard across the face.
“What? Did I hit a sore spot? Feeling ashamed now?”
Lucas laughed, a crazed laugh.
He took out a knife and held it against me.
Seeing this, my parents and Felix didn’t dare to move, fearing what this madman might do.
Lucas shoved me into
a
car, which sped away, stopping near an abandoned warehouse.
