“Baby, why won’t you listen?”
Lucas tied me tightly to a chair, his expression eerie as he gently caressed my face.
“You’re insane.”
My eyes were red, my lower lip bitten hard.
“I’m insane? You’re the one marrying someone else just to spite me. Who’s really insane?”
“Lucas, I’m marrying because I don’t love you anymore. We’re over.”
Lucas was so angry he lost control. He gripped my jaw.
“Baby, I can forgive everything you did to Rachel. Just come back home with me and we’ll live a good life.”
I let out a mocking laugh.
“Did you ever believe me? If I said I never hurt Rachel, would you believe me?”
Lucas’s expression turned cold. He hesitated for a long while.
“Rachel is very kind.”
With that, Lucas left.
Perhaps seeing the determination in my eyes, Lucas began to investigate.
A few days later, a file was handed to Lucas.
It included my miscarriage report, proving my pregnancy wasn’t fake.
The people who caused the car accident years ago also confessed they were acting under someone’s orders.
The mastermind behind it all was Rachel Sullivan.
She was certain Lucas would save her first.
When Lucas saw all this, he staggered, barely able to stand.
The documents in his hand scattered on the floor.
The more he read, the more his heart ached.
He ran back to the warehouse like a madman.
But I was already gone.

Her mouth was stuffed full, and she was struggling to move.
Seeing the culprit, Lucas’s eyes turned blood–red, his gaze murderous.
“Rachel Sullivan, how much have you been hiding from me?”
Rachel’s whole body trembled as she shook her head frantically.
“Lying to me, driving a wedge between Mia and me.”
Rachel’s tears flowed, tears of fear.
Lucas arranged for several men to take turns humiliating Rachel.
I had been waiting outside the warehouse.
As soon as he saw me, Lucas ran towards me with a smile.
“Mia, all the misunderstandings are cleared up now. We can be together properly this time.”
Lucas looked expectant.
“But I don’t want to be with you anymore.”
I said firmly.
“Mia, you said you loved me very much. I really know I was wrong this time. Let’s not fight anymore, okay?”
“Lucas, did you remember I loved you when you threw me off that platform? Did you remember I loved you when you disregarded my feelings? Did you remember I loved you every time you hurt me for Rachel?”
Hearing this, Lucas knelt in front of me, tears rolling down his cheeks.
“Mia, I’m sorry, I’m really sorry.”
Lucas kept slapping himself.
“Lucas, we… can’t go back.””
I left without looking back.
At this moment, I won’t turn back. Let those difficult days be a story I wrote for this grand love affair.
