Chapter 45
I woke in a dream.
The world was formless–no sound, no pain, only drifting in a sea of spiritual currents.
Until a soft, rhythmic heartbeat echoed from the depth of my body-
Not mine.
His.
Caelum.
Alive.
I opened my eyes to find myself lying in the Sanctum of the Moonveil Spire, a sacred place deep in Moonscar territory. Runes

flickered faintly on the ceiling. The scent of jasmine and herbs–Rima’s pheromones- wrapped around me like silk.
She was at my bedside in an instant, her eyes red–rimmed.
“You scared me half to death!”
“I’m alive, I rasped. “So is he.”
She nodded. “But Caelum… is in partial Awakening Sleep. His spiritual core is stabilizing. He needs you.”
“I’m here.”
“You were unconscious for seven days” she whispered. “Talon shielded the array until collapse. Riven ran into the collapsing canyon to carry you out.”

My heart clenched. “…And Cyrus?”
She bit her lip. “Gone. We sealed the valley, but found no trace.”
I stared at the ceiling, voice cold. “He’ll be back. He’s not finished with us.”
“He’s not just a rogue relative, Rima added softly. “He’s tied to the Nightshade Order.”
My stomach twisted.
“The extremist cult that believes in purging mutated bloodlines?”
She nodded. “To them, you and Caelum are abominations.”
The day I could walk again, both Talon and Riven were waiting outside my room.

One held tea in perfect form, calm as always.
The other leaned against a tree, chewing an energy bar with a scowl.
“You’re awake.”
“You should’ve stayed asleep longer.”
“If she didn’t wake, you were ready to break the med ward.”
“You were the one holding her hand for 24 hours straight.”
“Shut up.”
“You shut up.”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Thank you, I said.

Talon’s eyes softened. “You brought hope to every Awakening. It’s us who owe you.”
But peace didn’t last long.
The next morning, an official decree arrived from the Elder Council:
“Sadie Hale, Silvertail Candidate, suspected of spiritual anomaly during Awakening. Ordered to present herself at the Tower of Celestine for lineage reassessment.”
I read it aloud, eyes narrowing. “They’re coming for me.”
Rima’s voice trembled. “They want to lock you down. And your child…”
“They want Caelum” Talon said grimly. “You’re the only thing in their way.”

I stood. “Then I’ll show them who this child belongs to.”
That night, in the woods, I found Riven waiting.
He didn’t speak right away.
Finally, he murmured, “Do you know how terrified I was, watching you almost die?”
“You saved me” I said. “You saved him.”
He shook his head. “That’s not why I’m here.”
He looked into my eyes, voice low.
“I love you, Sadie.”
“Not because of what you are. Not because of what we survived. But because I can’t

imagine a world where you’re not in it.”
I couldn’t breathe.
“You know I’m not just an Omega anymore.”
“You’re you.” He smiled. “And that’s more than enough.”
We both knew it wouldn’t last.
The next morning, I stood in the Tower of Celestine. The Elder Council assembled- only five of twelve members present. The rest had “refrained from involvement.”
Among the delegates stood a silver–haired woman with eyes like frost.
Eira Greaves.
Noah’s sister.

And the Council’s enforcer.
“Sadie Hale,” she said, voice clear and sharp. “You are a spiritual anomaly and a bearer of forbidden power.”

“Your child–whether miracle or mutation- must be judged by the will of the Moon.”
I stepped forward. “Then summon her.”
The moment the words left my lips, the central seal of the tower shattered.
And from its light stepped a woman of glowing white–hair like starlight, eyes like galaxies.
She spoke with a voice that shook the soul.
“Sadie Hale.”

“You have been marked. Betrayed. Broken.”
“And yet–you will be the first to ignite the Lunar Flame with your own hands.”
I dropped to my knees, trembling. “…Who are you?”
“I am Lunara.”
“The Moon Goddess.”
Gasps echoed. Eira’s lips parted in disbelief.
Lunara walked forward, fingertips brushing the mark over my womb.
“He is asleep,” she said gently. “But he hears you.”
“Will you give him his name under

I nodded.
“I will.”
Just as her light enveloped me-
The ceiling exploded.
A black–flamed wolf crashed through the air, runes burning across its body.
“You cannot make her your heir!” the wolf howled. “The child must belong to us!”
The Nightshade Order.
Lunara’s light clashed with the wolf’s black flames.

My arms wrapped protectively over my stomach.
In the storm, I heard it.
A voice in my mind.
“Mama…”
“I’m here.”
