Cassian’s POV
I don’t know what the hell’s gotten into me.
I should’ve had my eyes locked on Alessia. On the woman I’d claimed to love, on the future I said I wanted.
But no matter how hard I tried, my gaze kept drifting. To her. To Isadora.
Yes, I’d been reborn. Given a second chance.
And in my first life, I’d married Isadora–not out of love, but obligation. A one–night stand that spiraled into a lifetime I never
asked for. She got pregnant. I married her. I resented every second of it.
So I ran.
I left her the day she gave birth to our son, Leo, and fled straight into Alessia’s arms.
And for a while, I thought I was finally free. But when Alessia disappeared on our flight home, it felt like my world caved in. And
the more I looked at Isadora and Leo–the life I didn’t want–the more I hated them for it.
Hated them for existing.
A year after Alessia vanished, I staged a car crash. When the vehicle slammed into the highway divider, I made a choice. I locked
Isadora and Leo inside and walked away.
Watched the flames eat everything I once called family.
And then…
I woke up. Back in time. Back to the night everything changed–Isadora’s birthday. The night her brother got me drunk and
shoved me into her room like I was a gift wrapped in whiskey and regret.
Only this time… She didn’t touch me. She didn’t sleep with me. She called Alessia instead.
I thought it was perfect. A clean slate. A second chance with the woman I thought I loved.
But then something started shifting.
Every time I saw Isadora, something twisted in my gut. A tension I couldn’t name. An ache I couldn’t ignore.
I told myself it was ego. That I only wanted what I couldn’t have. In the last life, it was Alessia I couldn’t hold on to. In this life… it
was Isadora who slipped through my fingers.
“It’s best we call off the wedding, Alessia,” I said quietly, looking at the woman I’d once believed was everything.
She blinked at me, lips parting. But I didn’t stay to explain.

My eyes flicked to Isadora.

She was standing across the room, tucked safely into Kai Drenner’s arms. His hands on her waist like she was already his. Like he
deserved her.
I turned and walked away.
“Wait, Cassian!” Alessia’s voice rang out, sharp and trembling. “I’m pregnant!”
The air around us fractured.
Everything stopped. Damian. Kai. Even Isadora.
