Beasthumans from all around had gathered, craning their necks to get a better look.
In the beast world, males far outnumbered females. To ensure more males had a chance at securing mates, the tribes had initially kept the reproductive abilities of females a secret. Otherwise, if the males knew the truth, they might refuse to pair with females of lower fertility.
None of them had ever witnessed a female undergoing a reproductive ability test before, which only heightened their curiosity.
Standing among the crowd, Avani and her mother had turned deathly pale, their bodies tense with anxiety.
Meanwhile, a female friend beside Avani remained completely oblivious, continuing to mock Karina.
“Karina, do you really think retesting will magically increase your reproductive ability?”
“It’s hilarious! If your reproductive ability is zero, why are you even wasting everyone’s time? Just leave already!”
Before the words had even settled in the air, suddenly, the black crystal in Karina’s hand began to glow with a soft, white light.
The once pitch–black crystal transformed into a snowy white, gradually revealing several green. markings.
The smug expressions on the beastwomen’s faces froze in an instant. “How… is this possible?”
An older beastwoman nearby had noticed what was happening and gasped in shock. “That’s… a green pattern! It symbolizes fertility! The crystal shouldn’t have reacted at all if her reproductive ability was zero! How could it light up? One, two… six! There are six lines! Karina’s reproductive. level is at level six!”
The beasthumans who had once looked down on Karina with disdain and scorn now star

The beastmen, unaware of the deeper situation, immediately broke into cheers.
Each of these high–fertility females had only one beast husband. If they could win them over, they’d have a chance at fathering strong offspring and continuing their bloodlines.

Avani managed to compose herself, stepping forward with a smile. “Rina, I’m so happy for you! Turns out you’re not infertile after all–that’s wonderful.”
Now that Karina’s true reproductive ability level had been revealed, Avani knew she had to mend their relationship.
Karina sneered and turned to Avani. “Does Darkvale Tribe have a beast husband better than Zareth?”
Then, her gaze sharpened. “And you–don’t get too excited just yet. Since you’re here, why don’t we test you as well?”
In Karina’s previous life, Avani had been with Xelrik for years but had never conceived. She had long suspected her fertility was the issue.
A flicker of panic flashed across Avani’s eyes. She quickly waved her hands, shaking her head. “I don’t need to. I’ve already completed my test! This beast crystal is too precious–you should take it back right away!”
Karina let out a cold laugh. Without giving Avani a chance to escape, she grabbed her wrist and pressed it against the crystal.
“Cut the nonsense. I said test it, so test it!”
Her movements were swift, catching both Acthor and Haleira off guard.
“Karina, what’s with that attitude?” one of the beastwomen scoffed. “So what if you have level six. reproductive ability? Ava has the same, but she’s never acted as arrogant as you!”
“Exactly! Don’t let her intimidate you, Ava. Show her your reproductive ability!”
Avani’s supporters immediately came to her defense. All eyes turned to the crystal, eager to see the results.
But after a long silence, the crystal remained completely still, dark and lifeless Like a pool of stagnant water.
“W–What’s going on?” one of the females stammered. “Chief Aethor, is the crystal broken?”
Avani’s face burned red with humiliation.
“It must have been a mistake just now, Ava! Try again!” Haleira urged, noticing the skeptical gazes of the beastmen. She subtly signaled the Aethor.

Left with no other choice, Avani tried again and again..
But the outcome was the same–the crystal remained completely unresponsive.
“Could it really be that Avani has no reproductive ability at all?”
“D*mn it! We’ve all been fooled by Avani! How could she have the audacity to claim she had level six reproductive ability?”
The beastmen seethed with anger.
“What a coincidence… Avani and Karina’s fertility levels just happened to get swapped,” Ariel mused, her voice laced with suspicion. “I wonder who could’ve been behind that?”
“She’s right! If Karina hadn’t demanded a retest today, we would’ve all been deceived!”
“Good thing I never got involved with Avani. Tsk, poor Xelrik…”
A group of beastmen shuddered at the thought, shaking their heads in sympathy.
Tying yourself to a barren female means throwing away your entire future. Xelrik’s done for

Xelrik had just returned from a hunting trip when he stumbled upon the scene. It felt like he had been struck by lightning.
Avani’s reproductive ability was zero, while Karina had rare level six reproductive ability!
Then what had he rejected Karina for all this time?
“Xelrik, let me explain-“Avani’s voice trembled, her face pale with fear.
Just then, a middle–aged beastwoman suddenly spoke up. “Something was strange about Karina’s test just now.”
Hearing this, Avani’s heart leaped with hope. But the beastwoman’s next words shattered her last shred of hope. “I noticed a small sphere on the fertility pattern… it seems to indicate that she’s already carrying a pup.”
A stunned silence fell over the crowd. Then, it was as if a bolt of lightning had struck.
“What? Karina is already expecting?”
“Goodness! Zareth is ridiculously lucky. isn’t he?”

Xelrik felt his gut twist with regret.
“Avani, we’ll talk when we get home,” he said coldly, releasing her hand and walking away.
“Xelrik!” Avani clutched her skirt, her eyes burning with jealousy.
This should have been her life.

Not far away, Zareth returned, carrying a log over his shoulder, with Draven helping beside him.. “Dude, did you just hit the jackpot?” Draven muttered, completely stunned.
How the hell did Karina end up being a level six reproductive ability? And she’s already pregnant?
Zareth remained calm, but the corners of his lips curled slightly. “I told you–Rina isn’t the type of woman you all thought she was,” he said coolly. “She’s incredible.”
Haleira quickly supported her daughter, her heart aching. “Ava, let’s go home first. I’ll find a way to fix this.”
The two turned to leave, but Karina stepped in front of them, snatching the salt jar from Avani’s
arms.
“Karina! What gives you the right to take my salt?” Avani snapped, her frustration boiling over.
Karina raised an eyebrow. “Yours“?” she scoffed. “A barren waste like you–what do you even need. salt for? Go drink some beast blood. As long as you don’t starve, you’ll be fine.”
“You!” Avani was furious.
Ironically, these were the exact words she had once thrown at Karina. And now, she had not comeback. She could only watch helplessly as Karina took the salt and left.
When Karina returned home, she saw someone waiting for her. As the familiar figure approached, a bright smile spread across her face. She dropped everything and ran toward him. “Mr. Lorcan!”
