Chapter 26 Wanted To Offer Them The Black Knife
“What! You gave it away? That was the masterpiece of my lifetime, forged from the bone of a Level–One black tiger beast!”
Enraged, Macgor paced restlessly around the room. After a while, he turned around to ask another question.
“Who did you give it to? I’ll get it back. Pick another weapon to give away, I won’t stop you. But not this knife.”
“I can’t get it back. I gave it to Karina.”
The tone of Ariel’s voice was subdued, perhaps out of guilt, as she hung her head low.
Upon hearing the name Karina, Maegor felt faint.
That crazy beastwoman?
Her beast husband, Zareth, was also a Level–Two beastman.
Once something ended up in her hands, was there any chance of getting it back?
The answer, of course, was “no way!”
“You, you!” Maegor pointed at Ariel’s forehead, his chest heaving with anger. His face bore the expression of frustrated disappointment.
“You’re still hung up on that fool Corvus, aren’t you? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have helped Karina and given her the black knife as you’ve always had a strained relationship with her. However, Karina is Corvus‘ sister.
“Dad!” Ariel interrupted him, her voice laced with embarrassment, “Corvus is a good beastman, and you shouldn’t speak of him like that. When we were young, you were too busy forging to look after me. If it wasn’t for Corvus kindly sharing his food with me and protecting me from bullying by the other pups, I would have starved to death!”
When Ariel’s mother gave birth to her, she tragically died from complications during childbirth.
Her mother’s first husband was Maegor.
Throughout her childhood and into adulthood, she had always relied on her father for survival.
But Maegor, being a beastman, was somewhat careless. Naturally, he didn’t pay enough attention. when taking care of his daughter.
During her childhood, she was often bullied by the other pups. They called her a jinx, a harbinger of disaster, blaming her for the death of her mother.
Back then it was only Corvus who stood un to protect her and helped her chase away the bullies

It was only when she grew up and her reproductive ability was determined to be at Level Four that her life gradually started to improve.
Now she had the capability, yet Corvus‘ intelligence remained forever as a child.
“Corvus is not a fool; he just never had the chance to grow up, Ariel retorted stubbornly.
Macgor was so infuriated that his face turned beet red.
“You know, you’re really stubbornly clueless!”
Not wanting to argue with him, Ariel changed the subject and asked, “Dad, why do you need the black knife?”
“The Ironfur Tribe sought me out, wanting me to forge weapons for them. But my hand is injured, so I can’t forge anything now. I’m thinking of offering them the black blade in hopes that they might spare me.”
“Can’t you refuse?”
“The Ironfur Tribe is formidable, unreasonable, and if refused, they would undoubtedly take their anger out on our tribe.”
Maegor sighed deeply.
Of course, he wanted to refuse, but he just couldn’t!
If the Ironfur Tribe were to get angry, he wouldn’t be able to handle the consequences, let alone continue to take care of his daughter in the future.
“Then I’ll help you forge another black blade,” Ariel suggested after a moment of thought.
Maegor shook his head. “I don’t have any more black tiger beast bones. Without the materials, it’s useless even if you know how to forge it.”
Ariel’s elegant eyebrows furrowed. “Then I will go to the Ironfur Tribe on your behalf!”
“No, you’re a beastwoman. It’s too dangerous,” her father rejected without a second thought.
After he finished speaking, it seemed as if he remembered something else.
“You know, our family and the Stravens really are connected by fate. That fool… ahem, I mean Corvus, he’s now serving as a beast slave in the Ironfur Tribe.”
Upon hearing these words, Ariel’s pupils contracted.
“Dad, what did you say? Isn’t Corvus supposed to be at the Briarhide Tribe? How did he end up ast a beast slave in the Ironfur Tribe?”

But it was already too late.

In front of Aethor’s cabin, Karina managed to extract Corvus‘ precise whereabouts.
As it turned out, Aethor had never intended to send Corvus to the Briarhide Tribe to mine salt in the first place. Instead, upon hearing that the young chief of the Ironfur Tribe was in need of a beast slave and was offering a generous reward, he decided to send Corvus there.
From that point on, there was no further news of Corvus.
Three years!
For three whole years, all the news brought back from the Briarhide Tribe was false!
“I’m heading to the Ironfur Tribe to bring Corvus back!”
In Karina’s strikingly beautiful eyes, a resolute glimmer surfaced as she almost instantaneously made up her mind.
“Rina, don’t let your anger cloud your judgment. The Ironfur Tribe has always been inhospitable and unreasonable toward outsiders. Moreover, you’re carrying a pup. It’s simply too dangerous,” Lorcan reminded her with a furrowed brow.
Karina, however, was resolute in her decision to leave.
“Mr. Lorcan, you can rest easy. I know what I’m doing. I’m just going to bring Corvus back; I won’t start any trouble with the Ironfur Tribe.”
“You’re so stubborn. Even if someone has to go there, it should be me.”
How could he allow Karina, who was carrying a pup, to go look for Corvus?
Draven hastily nodded. “Exactly, Karina! Let me go. I promise to find Corvus this time. You just stay back at the tribe and take care of yourself and the pup.”
Despite their joint persuasion, they still couldn’t convince Karina.
Feeling helpless, Lorcan shot Zareth a glare.
“How could you be such a lousy husband? Hurry up and persuade Rina!”
This guy hasn’t uttered a single word since earlier!
