DUTCH: I walk into the bathroom to get Mackie; I can smell her heat before I open the door. Thank the goddess it doesn’t affect the elementals like it does us. “What are you doing, Dutch?” she scolds. “Lilly thinks you are going into heat,” I say to her. “What? No, I’m too young for that.” She says somewhat dismissively. “Maybe, sweetheart, but I could smell it before I opened the door. Lilly thinks it’s because we have been around since July, and we are mates,” I tell her. “Dutch, I’m scared, I don’t want to be in pain.” She says to me. “It’s ok, sweets, the mating will help take the pain away,” I tell her. “Let’s get you out of the tub and into the bedroom.” I grab a towel and wrap it around her, pick her up bridal style, and carry her into the bedroom. I set her down gently. I take my pants and shirt off, leaving just my boxers on. I take her hand and put it on my chest. “Touch me, Mackie, touch all of me, don’t hold back,” I tell her. I watch her as she explores my body, moving around me, sliding her hands up and down my arms, back, and chest. “Dutch, I could get pregnant.” I hear the fear in her whisper. “That’s ok, love, I really hope you do, I want us to have a family,” I tell her softly, reassuring her. “Will you mark me? Even though ! can’t mark you back yet?” “Yes, love, I will gladly mark you if that is what you want.” “Yes, oh yes please!” I just wrap my arms around her and kiss her. “I promise I will try to be as gentle as possible.” She nods and we both fall onto the bed.

APOLLO: We are a relatively small Pack, only about eight hundred members, well, a bit more than that after the ball. I am grateful that those we picked up from the ball are warriors, I couldn’t care less if they were men or women, as long as they can fight. Jessie has proven me right; she is a spoiled princess. She has an entitled attitude and a haughty bearing. I have caught her badgering some of the omegas, at least they stand up to her, and they don’t take too much of her shit. Every wolf in this pack trains, including her. But because of our location, rogues think we are an easy target. She has almost cost me a couple of trade deals, with her ‘better than you attitude.‘ We grow flax and hemp, no, it’s not marijuana, it’s related, but no HTC. We have a unique way of blending the fibers to make a better type of cloth, with less shrinkage than normal linen from flax alone, and we have the infrastructure in place to manufacture the cloth, but only in small quantities, and only a small market for selling it. I was able to salvage the deal, but at a much lower cost than the originally agreed- upon price, thanks to her interference. If she keeps it up, I just may have to reject her and ship her ass back to her father. Even Atlas agrees, he was not too keen on her harassing the Pack members like she did. I took a few ideas away from all the Alpha meetings we had at the ball. Trading lead trainers and having them train with each other, and the different packs, I thought was a great idea, that way, as some of the smaller packs, we can stand and defend ourselves and help each other if we have a larger force coming our way and still work as a cohesive unit. That and incorporating an obstacle course. I sent Jessie on a mission just before the holidays to help recruit some of the smaller packs to get them on board with the trading lead trainers idea, some that were at the ball, and some that are just in the area. I expected her to at least come back with 4 Packs that would say yes, but she only came back with 2. And both of them were at the ball and were friends with her. She went into heat in early January. We are expecting our pups in June. Our gestation isn’t as long as a humans‘, but it is longer than a normal wolf. She is carrying fraternal twins; I can’t wait to meet them, it will be interesting to see what they look like, with her having black hair, I have, what I would call milk chocolate brown hair, she has sapphire blue eyes, mine are a caramel color, but my mom has much the same coloring as Jessie’s grandmother Lilly, I am my dad made over. So, we will see. We are in April now, and I will go, and see if I can recruit some of the packs that I sent Jessie to recruit back in November. I hope to be back by May for planting. Then once the pups are born, we can work at setting up the training schedule, provided I can get some of the other Packs on board. 2
JESSIE: Oh, goddess I hope these twins look nothing like his mother, it’s hard to look at her and not think of Kes. Oooh! I hate that little bitch. If it weren’t for both Leasha and his sister I would never have found out where she was, and thanks to Marla’s older sister, she’s mated to one of the guards, I heard about what happened to Mimi, or I would still be trying to call her with no answer. I will make her pay, I swear I will. It will just have to wait until June after the twins are born.
KESKA: We are into June now, it’s strange, because both Mackie and I are with pup. Our first heat, and we both ended up pregnant. It will be my birthday soon as well. This will be the first time that I will celebrate my birthday, and I haven’t been home, I still want Uncle Carson here to celebrate with me, though. “Elder Emory, may I invite my great–uncle to my party?” I asked him, “Of course, dear, it’s your party, invite whoever you want.” He tells me. I call great–uncle Carson right away,
knowing it will take him a while to get here. James and Janica have started their Alpha training, so they won’t be able to be here. And with that being said, Mom and Father have to stay and run the Pack, so they won’t be able to come, not that they would even remember that it’s my birthday, unless someone tells them. I wish that Adrian and Kina could come, but I know they have their own Pack to run, and Kina is pregnant with their second pup. The guys have been acting strange since before Mickie and I went into heat. Trever is anxious to get us back into the states, why I don’t know, like I said, they have been acting strange. 3
