Chapter 63
“Uh huh, Sia hummed judgmentally. Then, she sighed. “Pandora, you and Benjamin… Is it? Pandora nodded, letting her know she had his name right. “The two of you have a connection. You both seem to move together, he was rubbing your bump the entire time he was sitting next to you.”
“He hit Ron because he saw us kissing and thought he was cheating on you,” Keira added.
“I’m not even going to comment on the looks you give each other,” Ron laughed.
Everything they just said was making Pandora feel guilty. He’s married, she said again. “I’ve been cheated on, and I wouldn’t want to cause that pain to anyone. I…” She paused at the thought that she may have already come between Benjamin and his wife.
“I should find another doctor,” she whispered, not liking that idea..
“Pandora,” Sia started off but stopped. “Talk to him, tell him.”
She shook her head. “I don’t know what I feel. I just know that when he’s around I feel calmer and safe. The boys even react to him.”
“He may have already been separated from his wife?” Ron prompted.
“Derrik fucking lost his ring years ago and never wanted another. The fact he still wears his means he still cares and loves his wife. I don’t want to be the other woman. Not only do they usually lose out in the end, but I think I’ve had enough heartbreak to last a
lifetime.”
“Pandora, he may not like you that way; this may just be him, and then this is all a moot point. Your feelings may just be because of
how the boys are reacting to him,” Ron spoke softly.
“We’re just pointing out that you seem closer to him, that’s all. Just calm yourself, and besides, you’ve got what… ten weeks until the big due date?”
Pandora nodded.
“Then just leave it, and maybe try and not be alone with him, or have him stay over?”
She rubbed her head, feeling even more stressed than she already was. “You think I’m flirting with him?” she asked shyly.
“No,” all three of them stated together, but there was something in their voices that told her they were not completely truthful.
“Sorry, I thought your visitors had left,” Benjamin said, sounding shy
“You’re her doctor?” Her dad asked, getting out of his seat.
“I am,” Benjamin confirmed, looking at him.
Tm her father, Walter,” her dad said as he offered Benjamin his hand. Benjamin shook it immediately.
“I’m Benjamin Park
“How is she? her dad asked, sounding a little worried.
Benjamin’s eyes moved to hers and she gave him a short nod, showing him he could give her father the information. His eyes move off of her and back to her dad. He calmly explained everything and reassured Walter and Nina at the same time.

Chapter 63
The entire time Benjamin was looking her over, she tried to keep he attention away from him. It was a lot harder when he placed his hand on her bump, and the boys did their usual jumping around.
Pandora grabbed her bed sheet to stop herself from touching him. After a few minutes, he left the room.
He seems really nice, her dad commented and she closed her eyes
“He’s married,” she replied.
“What?”
“Before you try and set me up with him, he is married.” She gave her lad a pointed look to show him she knew where he was going with this.
“Why are all the good guys taken?”
Nina snorted and she just gave her dad a ‘what–the–fuck‘ look.
“Come on, you’re my daughter, and he’s a doctor. He’s good looking and the boys like him,” her father said matter–of–factly, having clearly picked up on what she thought only Benjamin and she knew.
“Just think…” She held up her hand, not wanting to feel worse than she already did. “Sorry, baby, I just want you happy with a guy who will treat you well.
She looked at her father and gave him a smile. “I’m okay, Dad. Being single isn’t that bad.”
Her dad sighed but seemed to drop it, and started to talk about everything he was planning on doing these next few weeks to get ready for the boys. It was later on when he and Nina walked out of her room, that she was alone.
But after a few minutes, Benjamin walked back in. He moved to the seat her father was sitting in, close to her head.
“Have I upset you?” There was a vulnerability to his voice that she had never heard from him before.
“No.” She dropped her eyes from his view.
“Pandora,” he called, lifting her head up. “Tell me.”
“My hormones are all over the place and you’re so sweet and gentle with me,” she told him and he sighed. “It’s fine, you’re married, I
know-”
Benjamin covered her mouth, stopping her rejection. “I like you a lot, sweetheart.” He stopped talking and his Adam’s apple bobbed. She looked into his eyes and she could see that he was shocked by the term of endearment he just let slip.
“But you are my patient right now, and will be until the boys are six weeks old.” Benjamin stopped talking again but started to stroke her face with his thumb. There seemed to be an inner debate going on in his head, so she stayed quiet, letting him work it
out.
“Give me until the twentieth to get some things sorted and I will explain my marriage. I will explain everything to you.”
She closed her eyes. “My husband cheated on me, and I hated it. I hate that he told some other girl that he loved her. That hurt me more than him having sex with her.” She shook her head, knowing she could have already caused his wife similar pain to what she
had felt.
“My marriage is not what you think, and no one’s feelings are or will be hurt. That’s if I can save you from being hurt. Please, just give me this time so I can sort some things out and see these babies born. You’ll know by then if the feelings you have for me are real, or just hormones.”
