Chapter 135
Chapter 135
My stomach is doing somersaults as I watch my hard work go up in flames in the middle of the Royal Courtyard. They set up a nice pillar while we were inside, updating the new census laws for rogues worldwide. They also put two mannequins that look exactly like Knight and me. The “missing” shipment crates are set up around them.
The fire is burning a deep purple from whatever they’re using to burn the clothes, because I made them fire–resistant. The firewolves are having a hard time dealing with it. I’m not sure if that’s the right name for them, but I’m going with it because it sounds perfect.
“You okay?” Perry asks from behind me.
“I didn’t think it was going to hurt this bad,” I admit. “The wood is burning faster than the material.”
“I know. I was shot at with a taser, and it didn’t penetrate. I kept some of them for us to go on missions,” she beams.
“Good shit and they’re super comfy,” Vy adds.
“They also look so cute.” Baby puts her arm around my shoulders.
Knight and the guys are arguing with the guards for allowing this to happen in the middle of the day. Mr. Knightly was right. Knight is a terrible actor. He is going over the top.
“You’re going to have to cry,” Perry says.
“I don’t think so.” I shake my head.
“Come on. It’ll look great for the cameras.” Vy insists.
“No,” I disagree. I already look very girly compared to all of them. People on social media say I’m a pack wolf being held hostage as Knight’s mate.
Before I can walk away, Perry punches my arm hard enough to send me staggering. Baby wraps her arms around me as I try to stifle my groan as pain shoots down my arm, completely numbing my fingers.
“It’s okay,” she pats rny head.
Tears fill my eyes, and my body breaks out in a sweat as I fight the urge to scream or punch someone, anyone, would do at this point. The three of them laugh and as soon Perry is within reach I swing punching her in the chest. She growls lowly and turns away from the cameras.
“You bitch.” she groans trying her best not to cry.
“You started it.” I shoot back and wrap my arms around Baby. Baby and Violetta both laugh quietly.
“Are you crying?” We all look over at Jonas and Knight, who are approaching us.
“Perry hit me,” I blurt out. Knight’s eyes immediately turn dark when they meet hers.
“She hit me, too,” she defends herself.
“In self–defense,”
“More like retaliation,” Baby laughs.
“Both of you behave,” Jonas rolls his eyes and pulls her to him. She uses him as cover to rub the spot where I punched her.
“Fuck, you hit hard as hell,” she complains.
“Yeah, she does.” Knight grins. “Let me see,”
I pull my sleeve up.
“Is it bad?”
“Bro, Baby turns to glare at Perry, “You weren’t supposed to hit her that hard. Printed your big ass fist on her arm. That’s gonna stick. You’re lycan ass isn’t even going to have a mark in twenty minutes,”
“I tapped her Perry snorts.
“You could have broken her arm, asshole,” Vy laughs. “Holy shit. Look at this thing.”
I can’t even lift my arm to get a better look at it, but what I can see is pretty bad. It’s bright red.

Chapter 135
“I’m sorry,” she says quietly. “Don’t know my own strength.”
“Okay,” I shrug and reach up to pat away my tears. My arm is somehow still completely numb and in pain.
The Alpha king’s guards come over and try to take our statement, but neither of them makes it easy for them. Both Perry and Knight start arguing over the stupidest things. They become defensive and accuse them of not doing their job correctly because we’re not pack dogs.
I remain quiet throughout the entire ordeal because now I want to go home. My arm is killing me. My focus is on the twins who are playing with Melody. I want to go over there, and I don’t know. Apologize? Maybe hug her. She doesn’t seem as lively as she did, and I can’t help but feel guilty. She’s a baby, and she probably doesn’t understand why she doesn’t have parents anymore. I can’t help but think what if it were Ayrie and Aizen.
“Remorse looks good on you, Rogue Queen.” I look up at the Alpha King and a couple of his guards.
“Sympathy. Remorse is for those who feel sorry. I do not,” I glare at him. I look around to see that I wandered closer to the twins and away from the others, who are probably still arguing with his guards.
“Your mate and sister are making it very difficult for us to get to the bottom of this,” he motions for us to sit on a bench. I take a seat because I want to nurse my arm a little. I sit down and place my hand over the bruise to feel it’s hot.
“They’re upset. I worked really hard on this project. Now I have to start over.” I shrug. Ugh, that was a bad idea. I can’t lift my arm at all, but I think it helps with the situation because my eyes are getting watery.
I’m sorry this happened on my grounds. Do you know anyone who may have a reason-”
“You specifically and literally any pack wolf who buys into your whole pack bullshit.” I cut him off. He grins, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. He turns his attention to his baby sister. “How is she?”
“Do you care?” he huffs.
“My daughter is the same age. Yeah, I care. What happened was completely unnecessary.”
“But you still did it,” he shoots back.
“Your mother started this. She even cursed me as she was dying. I’m not the one you should be angry at.”
“She’s sad,” he says after a while. “She doesn’t understand. She knows that you just defended yourself. She keeps asking me why her mommy wanted to be mean to her friend’s mom. I don’t have any answers for either of us. You’re just like me. It just doesn’t make sense.”
“Do you believe, Crazy?” I glance over at Perry to see that she’s watching us. So is Knight.
“I don’t want to.” he clears his throat. “If she is-”
“Would you have to step down?”
“No, I’m the king regardless of what the truth may be. They’d have to kill me to remove me from the position, but it wouldn’t look good. It would look like a Nelson takeover. Three of us are on the throne at the same time. It’s never been done before. In any bloodline. The legitimacy can be challenged.
“Do you want to know?” I ask him.
“Do you?” he looks over at me,
“Would you feel bad knowing that you’ve been trying to kill your sister from the moment you found out she existed?”
“Probably not. I have a sister. She’s right there, he points at her.
“You’d have more than one sister. Perry told me why you took an interest in her a while ago. That’s some wild ass Luke Skywalker bullshit.”
“I fucking hate you both,” he laughs. I reach for my hair, rip some out, and offer it to him.
“We all hate each other. That’s the problem with the hierarchy established. I think it’s crazy that the more we take from one another, the closer it brings us. I’m ready if you are. Maybe our very promiscuous father wanted to bring peace and figured this was the only way to do it. But what do I know! I thought I was human until just recently
“Or he was just a whore,” he shrugs. “I think you’re giving him too much credit for what he did.”
“Maybe, but it’s kind of funny: 1 laugh. “I brought her some costumes. I gave them to your guard. Her name is Kenzie
“Thank you,” he says, taking the hair out of my hand. “I’ll see you around, Rogue”
