“No! The marking ceremony can’t be delayed. You need to become Sebastian’s Luna as soon as possible. Getting pregnant with the heir to the pack will solidify the Thompson family’s position. Do you understand?”
“Rose, I don’t care if you like spending time with humans, but you will accept Sebastian’s mark!”
“Don’t tell anyone about Luka’s death. Our family can know, and that’s it. Got it?”
Mr. Thompson’s Alpha dominance was suffocating. My stepmother and Rose dared not defy him.
Rose, sulking in silence, returned to her room, and I had no choice but to follow.
From start to finish, this trio never uttered a single word of concern for me.

That’s when I realized that, in their eyes, I -an outsider Omega–was nothing but an inconvenience.
I had foolishly hoped they might shed a tear or two for me, but now I see that was nothing more than wishful thinking.
If I were still alive, the pain would be unbearable, but I had already become a wandering spirit.
The weight of constant disappointment eventually numbs you. I think I’ve long since become numb to it.

Rose changed into a cute outfit and opened James’s messaging app.
She hesitated, editing and deleting her message several times, carefully crafting it before finally sending it to James.

“What happened to Luka? Did Sebastian hurt her? Or is there something else going on?”
Rose paused for a moment, then spoke with some clear disappointment.
“Can’t you at least say hello before diving into questions? You always start with ‘sister, sister‘”
James frowned.
“Rose, if it weren’t for you saying you had news about Luka, I wouldn’t have bothered meeting you. I’m busy!”
“Stop playing this game like last time. I don’t have time for it!”
Seeing Rose stay silent, James stood up, ready to leave.
“Don’t send me any more messages unless it’s something important!”
Rose, panicked, grabbed James’s arm.
“Brother James! Do you really care that much about Luka? She’s been marked by the Alpha for two years, and you still can’t get over her?”
“Back then, she left you to become Luna! Why are you still thinking about that kind of Omega, who only cares about her status?”
Hearing Rose twist the truth like that, I almost laughed out loud.
When James and I broke up, I had told him I had my reasons.
I never imagined my dear sister would try to paint me as the villain.
James frowned.
