The next second, his gaze fell on me.
Perhaps it was the special bond between father and daughter, but my father took two steps towards me.
By now, I had completely lost my usual elegant and beautiful appearance.
My face was swollen from the beating, covered in blood flowing from my wounds, making my features unrecognizable.
My mouth was mangled by the scalpel, and in the struggle, Gary had knocked out four of my teeth with a punch.
Even though I desperately wanted to call out and tell Dad I was his daughter, the blood clogging my throat made it difficult to even breathe, let alone speak.
As my father was about to reach me, Gary and Finn grew uneasy.
They each stepped forward, blocking my father’s view of me.
Gary plastered an eager, ingratiating smile on his face.
“Mr. Lynn, why have you come personally?”
My father ignored him, pointing at me on the ground and asking:
“Who is that?”
Finn stepped forward and kicked me aside, then smiled at my father.
“Just a scheming woman who dared to impersonate my sister and tarnish our Lynn family name. Gary and I were just teaching her a lesson!”
My father’s brow furrowed deeply. I wasn’t sure if he believed Finn’s words.
But he walked towards me again, instructing his bodyguards to bring me to him.
Finn gritted his teeth and directly blocked the approaching bodyguards, saying somewhat pleadingly to my father:
“Dad, there’s no need for you to bother with such a small matter. I’ll handle it properly”
My father’s expression didn’t improve. In fact, it grew darker.
He despised people defying his decisions. Except for me, anyone who dared to go against his will would be taught the meaning of knowing one’s place.
Even Finn was no exception.
Before I moved abroad at age five for treatment of my serious illness, I had always been in poor health and stayed in the family villa to recuperate.
Because I had been kidnapped as a newborn, my father had people guard me closely, never allowing me to step foot outside my room without
an escort.
Finn thought I was a dull idiot, so he played a prank by sneaking me out and abandoning me on a busy street.
Unsurprisingly, I was targeted by kidnappers sent by our family’s enemies. When I was found, I had nearly died.
Seven–year–old Finn was beaten so badly by my father that he was bedridden for half a year.

When my father decided to kick Finn out, it was I who spoke up for him, allowing him to stay safely in the Lynn family until now.
I never imagined that one act of kindness years ago would lead to my torment at his hands years later.
I somewhat regretted it now. If I had known, I should have let Father kick Finn out back then.
My father’s expression was extremely displeased. He gave Finn a cold smile.
“What’s the matter? Is there something you don’t want me to see?”
