Finn broke out in a cold sweat but managed to compose himself and explain:
“Of course not. I just didn’t want some disgusting person to offend your eyes.”
“By the way, Dad, did you rush over today for some important matter? Is there anything I can do to help?”
My father remembered his urgent task was to find me quickly, so he gave Finn a sharp once–over with his piercing gaze. He snorted coldly but didn’t pursue the matter with Finn.
However, Charlotte chose this moment to sidle up to my father, her tone fawning:
“Hello, Uncle. I’m Charlotte Shaw, Finn’s girlfriend.”
“I’ve often heard Finn mention you. It’s such an honor to finally meet you in person today.”
My father’s already dark expression turned pitch black at hearing the name “Charlotte Shaw.”
If he hadn’t been focused on finding me, I had no doubt Charlotte would have been a corpse on the spot.
Seeing I wasn’t in the room, my father turned to leave with his bodyguards.
I desperately tried to call out to stop my father, but my painfully damaged throat couldn’t produce a sound.
But I didn’t give up. I forcefully struck my elbow on the ground, making a loud thumping noise.
My father paused mid–step and turned back to look at the bodyguards surrounding me tightly.
The next second, Charlotte viciously stomped on my arm, silencing the sound.
Finn acted quickly, kicking the bodyguard beside him to the ground and coldly reprimanding:
“As a Lynn family bodyguard, where are your manners? Make another small movement and I’ll fire you on the spot!”
That bodyguard turned pale with fright, repeatedly kowtowing and begging forgiveness.
“I’m sorry, Young Master Finn. I shouldn’t have made a sound to disturb Mr. Lynn. Please give me another chance!”
Just as my father was about to step out of the room, Dr. Young suddenly staggered to his feet.
“Wait, don’t go! Save Aria…
Before he could finish speaking, Gary knocked him unconscious with a punch.
But it was too late. My father had already noticed Dr. Young.
Gary hurriedly explained, “Mr. Lynn, this Samuel Young is an accomplice of that scheming woman. I just didn’t want his words to mislead you!”
My father froze upon hearing the name “Samuel Young,” remembering I had said on the phone that Dr. Young had saved me.
A bad feeling suddenly arose in his heart. His expression changed abruptly as he grabbed Gary’s collar.
You said his name is Samuel Young? Tell me clearly, who is this ‘scheming woman‘ you keep mentioning?!”
My father froze upon hearing the name “Samuel Young, remembering I had said on the phone that Dr. Young had saved me.
A bad feeling suddenly arose in his heart. His expression changed abruptly as he grabbed Gary’s collar.
“You said his name is Samuel Young? Tell me clearly, who is this ‘scheming woman‘ you keep mentioning?!”
Seeing the situation exposed, Finn’s face instantly drained of color.
The next second, my father’s palm struck his face.
“You little bastard, tell me where Aria is right now?!”
Charlotte was startled. The next moment, she stepped in front of Finn.
“Uncle, what are you doing? Finn is your son. How can you hit him like this over some slut?!”
Saying this, she walked over to where I was surrounded by bodyguards and dragged me out like a dead dog.
She then kicked me hard towards my father’s feet.
“Uncle, look carefully. This is just a slut who climbed into your bed and now wants to climb into Finn’s!”
“There are plenty of young, beautiful doctors out there. If you like them, Finn can find more for you. Why ruin the father–son relationship over a woman like this?”
My father crouched down abruptly and brushed aside the blood–matted hair covering my face.
When he saw my familiar features and the large gashes on my face with flesh peeled back by the blade, he froze.
I forced my eyes open to see my father’s expression of heartache and fury.
The last time I saw this look on his face was over a decade ago when I had been kidnapped.
The next day, the kidnappers were chopped to mincemeat and fed to the fish. The mastermind behind it all was consumed by a raging fire.
Charlotte had truly set herself on a path of no return this time.
