Alexander moved fast. He shoved me out of the way. But he wasn’t quick enough to dodge. The dagger plunged straight into his shoulder. Blood instantly soaked through his shirt, and his face went pale in a heartbeat.
Silver blades were every werewolf’s worst nightmare. Wounds from them wouldn’t stop bleeding.
“Alexander!” Lucas shouted, rushing forward. He kicked Evelyn hard, slamming her to the ground, then pinned her down.
But Evelyn, wild and feral like a dying animal, lashed out and stabbed Lucas with all her strength.
He grunted, pain flooding his expression. But even through the agony, he grabbed her wrist and twisted it hard enough to
break it
“Ah!”
Evelyn shrieked in pain as the dagger clattered to the floor. She tried to scramble up, but Lucas pinned her tighter, completely restraining her.
“Let go of me! Let go!” Her voice was laced with hysteria, her eyes burning with madness.
Lucas stared her down, his expression cold as ice. “You’re finished, Evelyn”
The hospital reeked of antiseptic. Sharp, sterile, cold.
Alexander and Lucas had been rushed into surgery. I stood in the hallway, arms folded, eyes locked on the tightly shut. operating room doors.
“They deserved it, Nova said flatly, with zero sympathy.
I scoffed. Did they think I’d forgive them just because they took a blade for me? What a joke.
It didn’t change anything.
In my past life, I was tortured in prison. My arms were broken. My legs shattered. There wasn’t an inch of my body left. untouched. That pain? It was burned into my memory.
“This is nothing compared to what I went through. Just a taste of the suffering I endured.” A silver dagger wound? I’d died once. They were still breathing.
Finally, the OR light was turned off. A doctor stepped out, his face drawn with exhaustion
“They’re stable. The wounds weren’t too deep. With rest, they’ll recover.
I nodded silently. No need for more words.
Charles and Elizabeth rushed into the hospital, breathless.
When they saw me unharmed, they both visibly relaxed. “Alicia, are you okay?” Elizabeth asked, eyes slightly red, her voice trembling with concern.
“I’m fine,” I replied coolly.

Hearing that, I couldn’t help but remember my past life.
I didn’t respond. I turned and walked straight into the hospital room.
Inside, Alexander and Lucas were awake. Both looked pale, but when they saw me, they forced weak smiles.

“Alicia, are you okay?” Alexander asked quickly, trying to sit up.
I stared at him coldly, a voice laced with sarcasm. T’m fine. You two, though, you almost died saving me.”
Lucas’s smile faded, guilt flashing across his face. “Alicia, as long as you’re safe, the injuries don’t matter.”
I didn’t reply. I turned toward the window and stared out at the overcast sky.
My conscience told me I shouldn’t completely ignore what they’d done. But every time I saw their faces, all I could remember was the pain they helped cause.
I sighed quietly in my heart. Forgetit. I’dwait until theyrecovered. Then ‘dleave
I couldn’t betray Patricia’s teachings. She always told me a werewolf must repay those who save them.
As I stood lost in thought, Alexander’s voice broke the silence.

“Alicia, my shoulder hurts. Could you get me a glass of water?” His tone was soft, almost pleading, eyes full of hope.
“He’s totally using that injury to boss you around!” Nova growled in my head. “He’s doing it on purpose!”
I shot Alexander a cold glance. Didn’t say anything. But I still poured the water.quietly placing the glass by his bedside.
Then Lucas spoke up quickly. “Alicia, my hand’s gone a bit numb. Would you mind peeling me an apple?”
I didn’t answer. Just picked up the fruit knife and started peeling without a word.
I told myself this was just repayment. That was all.
It didn’t mean I’d forgive them. Not for standing beside Evelyn. Not for helping her hurt me.
