As the host, it was practically forbidden for Shadow not to recognize someone. Yet she truly didn’t know who this girl was. Shadow, uncertain, could only smile and ask directly, “May I have your name, miss?”
The audience also wore blank expressions. Even Shadow didn’t know who she was?
In fact, Shadow had originally assumed Ms. Susan would be the one gambling tonight. She hadn’t even noticed the young girl beside her.
“Sue,” Windy said simply.
Shadow froze. Just a last name?
As expected, this girl had personality.
Guests at Pleasure Cove were always prominent figures. Shadow could only awkwardly continue, “So it’s Ms. Sue. May I ask, who would you like to challenge?”
Windy’s gaze lifted to the private room in the center of the third floor. She knew he was there.
“Mr. Samuel.”
The crowd followed her gaze. They couldn’t see inside, but everyone knew that private room belonged to a mysterious figure -Mr. Samuel.
In recent years, almost no one had dared to challenge him. His name was more like a legend.
Shadow and Nightshade exchanged a glance, both seeing the shock in each other’s eyes. Shadow hesitated and asked again, unsure if she had heard correctly, “You want to challenge Mr. Samuel?”
“Yes,” Windy replied calmly.
Mr. Samuel’s name rarely appeared on official rosters. He was only featured on Pleasure Cove’s promotional materials- because no one dared provoke the gambling god unless they were tired of living.
An uproar broke out among the crowd. Such boldness!
Ben Yale crossed his arms, a smile playing at his lips. Watching the girl’s foolish bravery was amusing. He had originally planned to leave soon, but now he decided to stay and watch.
Mr. Samuel’s influence was immense. Even Ben Yale had to tread carefully around him. He dominated both the legal and illegal worlds. In M Country, he was undefeated.
Thanks to his presence, Pleasure Cove remained orderly despite its chaos. Anyone who dared make trouble would be crushed beyond recognition. No exaggeration.
Even the most hardened criminals feared Mr. Samuel’s name.
Challenging him wasn’t just risky–it was a death sentence.
It was said that anyone who lost to him had to leave behind a part of their body. Sometimes a foot. Sometimes an arm. Sometimes worse.
There was a story of a man who challenged Mr. Samuel and lost a hand on the spot. Days later, his body was found dumped in a deserted alley.
Gambling against Mr. Samuel meant wagering your life.
This games were played with cards–three rounds, two wins needed for victory. He shuffled once, you shuffled once, then the dealer shuffled once. This special rule was exclusive to him.
The audience collectively sighed in pity. Such a beautiful girl, about to be ruined.

Paul, Samuel’s assistant, caught her signal. He hesitated. Mr. Samuel wasn’t someone anyone could just challenge. But the gun’s insistence left no room for doubt.

Paul glanced regretfully at Windy. Such a young life, about to be snuffed out tonight.
Meanwhile,, M. Samuel thought to himself, Finally, someone dares challenge me again. And it’s a little girl. Interesting.
Under the audience’s eager gaze, the third–floor private room opened. A middle–aged man in a sharply tailored suit emerged. flanked by bodyguards.
His face was Ciurope, handsome yet cold. He descended the stairs slowly, every step deliberate.
His deep–set eyes locked on the girl on stage, as if trying to see straight through her. A slight smirk curved his lips. In flawless Mandarin, he said, “You’ve got guts. Welcome. Do you know the rules?”
From the moment he appeared, Windy’s gaze had never left him. Her eyes were bottomless whirlpools–cold, emoonless.
“I know,” she answered coolly
The dispassionate tone, so unfitting for a girl her age, only made Mr. Samuel more intrigued. His smile widened, but it never reached his eyes..
He stood, she sat. From above, he looked down at her, dark undercurrents swirling in his gaze.
“You have one minute to regret,” he said.
Windy took a deep breath, then scened
“Mr. Samuel, are you afraid? Your time is precious. Let’s not waste it with useless chatter.”
The room fell deathly silent.
Everyone held their breath. She dared speak to Mr. Samuel like that? Did she have a death wish?
Ben Yale’s heart skipped a beat. She really dues lovu uliw Mr. Samuel is… or she’s insane.
On stage, Mr. Samuel’s smile disappeared complietzeity. His eyes filled with murderous intent.
No one had ever dared speak to him that way..

Shadow and Nightshade could both feel the waves of busality radiating from the stage. Shadow clutched the edge of her chipboard, forcing herself to stay calm. She knew all too weil how cruel Mir Samuel could be.

His disdain and cold killing intent filled the air.
Windy met his gaze head–on, completely unfazed.
‘I have someone Mr. Samuel has been looking for.”
The words made Mr. Samuel’s pupils shrink.
If it weren’t for his strict self–control, he would have drawn his gun right then and silenced her forever.
Jasa than? She wanted to bargain with him using just that?
She had to be mad.
Fury flared im him. He rubbed his temple, suppressing the urge to explode.
She was mocking him.
He was about no signal his bodyguards when Windy calmly spoke again.
