Chapter 15 The Deal

“Mr. Samuel, no need to get impatient. Haven’t you spent all these years searching for that person without success?” Windy said lightly.
As she spoke, she quickly scribbled a few words on a piece of paper. She shot a glance at the waiter nearby. The waiter, trembling inside, hurriedly took the note from Windy’s hand and carefully delivered it to Mr. Samuel.
Mr. Samuel accepted the paper, and the waiter immediately retreated several steps, trying to lower his presence.
Mr. Samuel’s dark eyes stared down at the paper in his hand. The girl’s last name was Sue, but according to his intelligence network, there was no Sue heiress in Ocean City. Her identity was unknown. So young, yet exuding such an extraordinary aura. Even facing him, she showed no panic or fear. A girl like that shouldn’t be obscure.
And yet, she had no reason to risk her life playing games with him.
Half–trusting, half–doubting, he unfolded the paper under everyone’s curious gaze.
The moment he read the words on it, his pupils contracted violently. Without caring about the setting, he slammed his palm down hard on the table and shot to his feet, his body leaning forward, waves of hatred surging in his eyes.
“If you don’t explain yourself clearly, you–and everyone around you–will pay for your stupidity,” he growled through gritted teeth.
Everyone in the hall heard Mr. Samuel’s furious threat. Whispers broke out, wondering what on earth Windy had written.
Windy, however, remained unshaken by his rage. Calmly, she rose from her seat and slowly walked toward him. She leaned down, speaking so softly that only he could hear.
“He has a scar about ten centimeters long on his upper right thigh.”
With that, she returned to her seat as if nothing had happened.
Samuel dropped back into his chair, stunned. His heart raced uncontrollably. He believed her.
That man–the one he wanted to skin alive, tear limb from limb–could it be true?
Ten years ago, his wife and daughter Alice had lost their lives because of that man.
Back then, he had taken his family to Dravia, only to suffer an ambush. Luckily, the old man from the Hanson family had saved them. Realizing that the life of violence he led could not protect his wife and daughter, Samuel decided to leave the underworld behind.
But before he could escape, he was betrayed by someone close to him. They were ambushed again, this time by a rival gang.
With no other choice, he handed his wife and daughter to his most trusted man, ordering him to keep them safe, while he and a dozen brothers fled for their lives.
For a whole year, he lived like a rat, constantly on the run.
During that time, he met the owner of Pleasure Cove. With their help and the last remnants of his own forces, he killed the rival boss–a man called Blackie–and seized complete control of the gang.
He thought he had finally avenged his family.
But he soon discovered that his wife and daughter hadn’t been killed by Blackie at all.
Before his wife died, she had whispered the truth to him: the real culprit was another man, one with a long scar at the base of his thigh. And he hadn’t acted alone.
Two days after his wife died, his fourteen–year–old daughter Alice also succumbed to her injuries.
Their bodies had been mutilated beyond recognition.

He had tortured and killed every one of Blackie’s underlings he could find, but the man with the scar had vanished without a
trace.
He had spent the last ten years searching. His power now spanned both the legal and illegal worlds, but even with all his influence, he had found nothing.
Now, out of nowhere, this girl claimed to know.
Was it possible?
Samuel was a cautious man. He never made deals he couldn’t win. But when it came to his wife and daughter, he couldn’t take chances.
Windy, sensing his shifting emotions, remained expressionless. She knew exactly how deep his hatred ran.
Samuel lacked nothing now–except the chance to personally slaughter the one who had destroyed his family.
Watching the girl’s unchanging expression, Samuel quickly reined in his emotions.
For the first time, he seriously considered abandoning the gamble. He didn’t believe she could beat him. If she lost, she would lose a limb. That seemed a waste. Yet he couldn’t break his own rules, not in front of all these people.
He was curious. What exactly did she want from him?
“What do you want, Ms. Sue?” he asked.
Windy tapped the tabletop lightly. Without hesitation, she said, “Three hundred million.”
Her voice was soft, only loud enough for Samuel to hear. Even the hosts nearby couldn’t catch it.
She admitted she was being greedy.
But she needed a backup plan.
Morgan would soon rise to become the richest man in Ocean City. Without financial strength, how could she hope to pull him down from his pedestal?
Ironically, she was about to earn that money through gambling–the same skill she once used in her past life to help Morgan. The same Morgan who had ultimately sent her to prison.
This time, I’ll make them pay in blood.
Samuel frowned slightly. Three hundred million, from a little girl. Such boldness.
He didn’t lack money. His businesses spanned the globe.
The question was whether she could actually win it from him.
He doubted it.
After all these years, in all of Dravia, no one had ever beaten him.
“Fine. Three hundred million. Deal,” he said, interest sparking in his eyes. He added casually, “If you win, I’ll also throw in a piece of land–as long as you agree to tell me about that man.”
Faced with such favorable terms, Windy had no reason to refuse.
“Deal, she replied without hesitation.
Three years later, Morgan would dominate Ocean City. This was her chance. She couldn’t allow him an easy death. She had to drag him through hell first.
Samuel, seeing her fall silent, feared she might back out. He hurried to sweeten the deal further.
If three hundred million isn’t enough, I’ll throw in another property elsewhere. We can negotiate.”

This was already a huge concession from Mr. Samuel.
It showed how desperate he was to find that man.

It also showed how deeply he regretted missing his chance for revenge all these years.
Windy hadn’t expected him to offer even more.
An unexpected bonus.
Three hundred million plus a piece of prime land–what a bargain.
Absolutely worth it.
