Sophia spoke calmly, “So you do know marriage isn’t a game.”
Alpha Lawrence froze, caught off guard. He opened his mouth, scrambling for an excuse -but didn’t get the chance.
Alpha Francis had no patience for drama. With one sharp movement, he lifted his foot and slammed it square into Lawrence’s chest, sending him flying backward.
Lawrence hit the ground with a thud, wheezing. Miranda shrieked and rushed to his side, clutching his arm. “Lawrence! Are you okay?!”
Francis, completely unfazed, brushed his hand over the spot where Lawrence had dared to touch Sophia’s arm, as if dusting off something foul.

disdain. “Touch my Luna again, and you won’t get off with just a kick next time.”
Lawrence clutched his chest, face pale from pain and rage. He barked, “Francis! She was my mate! You think just because Red Moon Pack is powerful, you can steal someone else’s Luna?!”
Francis pulled a slip of paper from his pocket and held it right in front of Lawrence’s face.
It was the divorce certificate.
“You were saying?” Francis asked dryly. “Who’s your Luna now?”
Lawrence stared at the word divorce, and the fire in his chest sputtered out.
His anger turned to desperation as he turned toward Sophia, eyes pleading. “Sophia, I messed up, I know I did. Let’s just talk, okay? As husband and wife, we can work through this. If it’ll make you feel better, I’ll divorce Miranda–hell, we’ll get remarried right after.

Miranda–hell, we’ll get remarried right after. Just don’t act on impulse, please…”
He said it like he was doing her a favor. Like her marrying Alpha Francis was nothing but a petty move to force his hand.
Maybe because she’d once loved him too well, forgave too easily. Maybe that’s why he believed there was no line she wouldn’t cross for him–no betrayal he couldn’t talk his way out of.
But love, once drained, doesn’t come back.
And Sophia’s hadn’t even had the chance to bloom before he’d yanked it out by the roots.
She looked at him, her expression full of weary disappointment. “Lawrence… you really are full of yourself.”
Then she reached for Alpha Francis’s hand and walked toward the Civil Affairs Bureau without a second glance.

Lawrence panicked, his chest tightening as her back grew smaller in the distance.
“Sophia! You can’t marry him! You’re my Luna–Sophia, stop!”
He shoved Miranda aside and lunged toward her–but Francis was ready. At his signal, two guards stepped in, tackling Lawrence to the ground and pinning him there.
No matter how he struggled, he couldn’t get within a breath of her.
He lay there, helpless, watching as Sophia disappeared inside with Alpha Francis- forever out of his reach.
Miranda rushed to his side again, pulling at his arm. “She’s unbelievable! I bet she’s been sneaking around with Alpha Francis behind your back for months! That’s why she didn’t hesitate to divorce you–she’s just pretending to be the victim. She’s the one who’s been sleeping around!”

She thought she’d score points with Lawrence by dragging Sophia’s name through the mud.
But to her surprise, his head snapped toward her, eyes darkening. “Shut up.”
Miranda flinched.
Lawrence couldn’t–wouldn’t–accept that Sophia no longer loved him.
“She loved me,” he muttered, fists clenched. “She was loyal. Devoted. She wouldn’t just fall for someone else overnight…”
He began pacing in tight circles, breathing hard.
“She must be doing this to get back at me. She’s bluffing. Francis is just playing along. There’s no way she stopped loving me just like that…”
Miranda pressed her lips together, feigning

As a woman, she understood Sophia. What kind of woman wouldn’t be furious after being dumped while pregnant? Of course Sophia had snapped. But secretly, Miranda was gloating.
Sophia and Lawrence were done. And with Sophia out of the picture, there was no one left to threaten her place at Lawrence’s side.
But her smugness didn’t last long.
Lawrence’s gaze landed on her–sharp, accusing, and final.
Miranda’s stomach dropped. “Lawrence? What… what’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Come with me.” His voice was flat, but his grip on her wrist was like iron. “We’re getting a divorce. Right now.”
He dragged her toward the building. “We’re ending this before Sophia and Francis register their marriage have to stop ber”
