Chapter 6
Gemini’s POV
“Fuck!” I yelled, flipping over the side table with the vase on it.
Gavin pulled up behind me and held me in place to stop me from breaking any more stuff. “You really need to calm down, sist
“Breaking all these things won’t change anything,”
His words plainly portrayed the truth and I felt the worst of myself for being in this situation.
I can’t believe I prayed to meet this ogre again, Fuck!
I slid down the wall, my hands in my already messed–up hair.
“Why does fate always find it cool to mess with me?” My words were followed by intense sobs.
I was broken, angry and confused. My fate had been sealed, yet I hoped there was a way out of this shit. I could run away, but I could also consider myself a rogue from there on, cause he promised to do all those miserable things to my pack if I refused to be his property,
JEverything is going to be fine, trust me! It can’t always be as bad as it seems.” Gavin tried to cheer me up, but I wasn’t just having it
“Yeah, of course. But it could be worse!” Tears streamed down my face. “I just hate myself so much! If I wasn’t such a weakling, my mate wouldn’t have rejected me and I wouldn’t have to spend the rest of my life with a demon.”
Gavin pulled me closer, his jaw in my head as he squeezed me in his embrace. “After Mom, you are the strongest woman I know, Gem. You always find a way to make the best out of the bitter experiences life throws at you.”
“I admire you a lot, Gem. And I love you even more.”
“If I have to come along as a bonus package, I would. But please don’t blame yourself for any of this, it’s not your fault and will never be.”
He kissed my forehead gently and I melted in his embrace.
The creek of the door tore us apart.
“Mom!” We both called and a familiar figure emerged out of the shadows.
My brows arched as I hoped to hear good news, but rather she shook her head in resignation.
“The Elders already decided, they would take the money.”
Fresh tears burst out of my eyes at the sound of her words. I knew this was it, but deep down I wished I could just come out of this nightmare.
Morn pulled us both into a nice and warm embrace which seemed to calm me more than I expected.
We spent the rest of the time reliving old memories, the same ones I wished to remember whenever I got bored or lonely at the Lycan’s Kingdom This was it, the second to the last night I would be spending with my family.
I really wished Gavin could come with me, but I wasn’t going to let him sabotage his future alongside me, so I discouraged him from coming along.
This was my FATE and I was ready to face it head–on.
The night ran by in a sleepless blur. I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling as tears silently streamed down my face. Tomorrow was the day my forty eight hour grace would be over, also the day I would leave everything behind my family, my friends, my freedom.
A faint knock on my room window broke the silence. “Gem, can I come in?” His voice was soft yet demanding
*Piene?”
I slowly got out of bed, my heart heavy with emotions. I approached the window, and Pietre’s pleading eyes met mine. “Gem, please let me in I need to talk to you.” His voice was laced with desperation, but I didn’t care.
I was still reeling from the pain he had caused me. “Go away, Pierre,” I whispered, trying to keep my emotions in check as I slid my curtains to shut
his face out.
But he didn’t leave.

He kept knocking on the window, his desperate pleas to let him in.
I was tired of his persistence, tired of the pain he had caused me. I turned away from the window and walked back to my bed. I grabbed a pillow and covered my head, trying to block out the sound of his knocking.
But he didn’t stop.
He kept knocking, his knocks growing louder and more insistent. I felt a surge of anger and frustration. Why wouldn’t he just leave me alone?
I threw off the pillow and stalked back to the window. I flung it open, and Pierre’s eyes met mine. “What do you want, Pierre?” I spat my anger and hurt boiling over.
Pierre’s face was etched with pain and regret. “Gemini,” He called softly.
But I didn’t want to hear him out. I didn’t want to have anything to do with him. “Just leave me alone, Pierre,” I whispered, my voice cracking with
emotion.
But Pierre didn’t leave. Instead, he climbed into my room, his eyes never leaving mine.
“What the heck are you doing?” I shouted.
The moment his last leg flew in, he steadied his hands on my waist and without warning, he kissed me.
His lips crashed down on mine, sending a jolt of electricity through my body. I tried to push him away, but he held me tight, his arms wrapping around me like a vice. His kiss was intense, passionate, and all–consuming. It was like he was trying to pour all his emotions into me, to make up for the pain he had caused.
But I didn’t want his kiss. I didn’t want his apologies or his regrets. I just wanted him to leave me alone. I tried to push him away again, but he held me tight, his lips still locked on mine. It was like he was trying to brand me, to mark me as his. And I hated it. I hated him.
But despite my hatred, anger, and hurt, I couldn’t help but feel a spark of attraction–a spark that I quickly extinguished, reminding myself of all the pain Pierre had caused me. I finally managed to push him away, gasping for air.
I sent his face in the opposite direction with a resounding slap I had prepared for him for a while now.
“Get out,” I spat, my eyes blazing with anger. Pierre’s face was etched with pain and regret, but he didn’t leave.
Instead, he took a step closer to me, his eyes burning with intensity. “I’m not going anywhere, Gem. I just want to spend the night with you, to say my goodbye.”
My door fell open at that heated moment and an imposing figure stood in front of my room door.
“Shit!” I cursed at the unexpected sight.
