Chapter 26
Dante Romano stood in his office. If it was possible you could have seen smoke radiating off his body. His patience was hanging by a thin fucking thread. His fingers drummed against the sleek surface of his desk, his jaw locked tight as his mind reeled.
This was supposed to be his fucking honeymoon
He was supposed to be in his bed, tangled in satin sheets, buried inside his breathtaking wife not dealing with this bullshit.
But no.
Some dead man walking had the audacity to blow up one of his warehouses. Not just any warehouse, his most important one. Billion–dollar military–grade weapons, gone. A shipment that was supposed to be transported to America son
Dante sat in his chair, perfectly still. A thick silence suffocated the room, broken only by the distant ticking of his grandfather clock.
The men standing behind him shifted uncomfortably, waiting for the inevitable explosion..
Because when Dante Romano was this quiet!
It meant hell was about to broke down.
Across from him, Luca leaned back in his chair, smirking like this was the best entertainment he’d had all week.
“You know,” Luca drawled, taking a sip of whiskey at ten in the goddamn morning, “for a man who finally got the woman he’s been obsessed with for months, you sure as hell don’t look happy.”
Dante didn’t even spare him a glance. His focus was on Andrew, who stood stiffly in front of him.
“You’re sure it’s him?” Dante’s voice was calm. Too calm
Andrew nodded, his expression grave. “We confirmed it this morning. Dominic Rossi. That fucker’s the one who was behind this
Dante inhaled sharply through his nose. His fingers twitched, itching to wrap around something, preferably Dominic Rossi’s fucking throat.
“Dominic Rossi Isn’t he the youngest brother of William Rossi, our American clint That bastard dared to double–cross me?”
Luca let out a low whistle. Jesus. The guy has a death wish. He thinks he can run off with the supplies and not pay back! And now those brothers are bold enough to plan this? Does he really think we’re stupid.
“I’m going to remind that fucker why men fear my fucking name.” Dante growled looking dead in luca’s eyes.
Luca grinned.
Dante grabbed his phone, checking the time. He had left Elara sleeping, her soft body angled in the sheets, looking like a goddamn angel. The sight had almost made him stay.
Almost.
He told himself he’d be back soon. That he’d deal with this quickly and return to his wife.
Something felt wrong. This feeling was very unfamilier to him. Dante wasn’t a man who believed in gut feelings. He believed in facts, control and power.
Yet, for some reason, his pulse was unsteady. His instincts screamed at him, unease settling in his bones.
Shoving the nagging feeling aside, Dame stood. His voice was dark. “ Lets go”
There was a scumbag to deal with first.
Luca chuckled, standing beside him. “Can I at least have some fun before you paint the walls with his blood?”
Dante smirked, but his eyes were ice–cold.
“You can have whatever’s left.”
And with that, Dante Romano walked out followed by Andrew and Luca, completely unaware that the real nightmare that was yet to begin

Chapter 26
Dante Romano stepped out of his private jet Luca cracked his neck, exhaling a cloud of smoke from his cigar, while Andrew checked his gun. The car was already present their to take them to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city, the supposed hideout of Dominic Rossi
Inside, Dominic had no idea death was about to come knocking.
Dante lifted his wrist, pressing the tiny carpiece in his ear. “Nero, talk to me.”
His younger brother’s voice came through clear, laced with amusement. “They’re all inside. Except William, Dominic’s holed up in the back office with two guys and a bound women. Best are scattered, mostly downstairs. Five at the entrance, another three patrolling. Light security. They don’t expect you.
–
Dante’s lip curled. “Fucking idiots.”
Luca let out a dark chuckle. This is almost too easy!”
Dante ignored him, his voice dropping. “Out the cameras, bin keep the audio. I want to hear the fucker’s screams.”
“Yo got it.” Nero replied, the sound of rapid keystrokes echoing before the cameras went dark. “You’re good to go.”
Dante rolled his shoulders, then pulled his gun from its holster, checking the silencer. His jaw was locked so tight he could hear his own teeth grinding. “Let’s go
Luca grinned like a man about to have the time of his life. “Finally”
Andrew stayed silent, his usual deadly focus in place.
They moved like shadows, slipping past the first set of guards before they even realized what was happening. A quick knife to the throat, a silenced bullet to the head. No alarms, no sound was made as the way was dear.
Inside, Dominic’s men were laughing, playing cards, enjoying themself after getting such a big hand.
Dante stepped into the room.
Bang.
The first shot rang out before they even saw him. The man closest to the door dropped, blood splattering across the table. The rest scrambled for their guns, but they were too slow,
Luca fired next, putting two bullets into a guy’s chest while Andrew took down another with a blade to the gut,
“Dante Roman !” One of the guards barely got his name out before Dante’s bullet met his forehead.
The rest didn’t even get a chance to scream.
Within seconds, the room was silent. The stench of blood filled the air.
Dante stepped over the bodies like they were nothing, his gaze locked on the office door,“Dominic,” he called, voice laced with venom. “I know you’re in there, you fucking coward”
A shuttle. Then
Bang
A bullet slammed into the door from the inside.
Dante laughed. A slow, sinister sound. “You really think that’s gonna stop
Luca whistled, kicking a body out of his way “Damm, this is fun”
Dante took a step forward and
Boom
The door burst open as Dominic tried to make a run for it.
Dante grabbed him by the collar before he could take another step, slamming him into the wall so hard the plaster cracked.
Dominic choked, hands scrambling at Dante’s iron grip. “P–please..”
