Chapter 73
Gemini’s POV
Heartache-
Severe pains and emotional instability were the order of the day. It was my first time attempting to be a mother and losing it just like that felt like the worst heartbreak one could ever encounter.
My mental health, physical health and everything else were totally affected. And I could tell that Asher was affected by this sudden blow as well, despite the fact that he tried to be strong and act like it was nothing.
“We could always make another,” that was his usual phrase, but as true as it was, it didn’t change the disgusted feeling settling in the pit of my stomach.
“Where are you taking me this time?” I asked, stumbling slightly as Asher pulled me along. His grip was firm, but I could feel the excitement radiating from him. One thing was the fact that he was taking me somewhere and another thing is how light his mood actually was, despite the turmoil of the week. It was a very rare thing to see King Asher this way, and so it really intrigued me to know where we were heading and why?
Just come with me!” he replied, his voice steady, though I sensed a hint of impatience beneath his expressionless facade. I couldn’t help but wonder what he had planned this time.
“Asher, gently! I can’t see anything,” I protested, trying to keep up with his brisk pace as I dragged my legs behind me. My heart raced, not just from the mystery adventure but from the thrill of being with him.
After a few moments, he finally stopped. “Okay, you can look now,” he announced.
I slowly opened my eyes, and my breath caught in my throat. We stood in a vast, futuristic space filled with a massive collection of incredible technology. Holographic displays showcasing everything from advanced robotics to interactive AI systems. The air buzzed with the hum of machinery and the soft beeping of devices in action.
“Welcorne to the Tech Haven,” Asher announced, a proud smile breaking through his usually stoic demeanour.
I was mesmerized. “This is amazing!” I exclaimed, stepping forward to examine a sleek, floating drone that whirred softly above a workstation. It hovered gracefully, responding to the gestures of a nearby engineer who was programming it with a tablet.
“Come on, there’s more to see.” Asher said, pulling me towards a glass corridor. The walls shimmered with digital screens displaying the universe most epic shows. I could hardly contain my excitement; my mind raced with possibilities. As a tech enthusiast, this place felt like a dream come true, majority of the inventions resonating with my dream work space.
We reached a large room with a magnificent glass roof. The ceiling was a dome of crystal–clear glass, allowing the night sky to spill into the room. Stars twinkled brightly above us, and I could see the Milky Way stretching across the heavens like a cosmic river.
“Asher!” I breathed in disbelief, stepping further inside. The room was equipped with high–tech telescopes and other reality interfaces that allowed us to explore the night sky in detail. I could see planets, stars, and even distant galaxies displayed on the screens.
Asher leaned against the railing, watching me with a sense of satisfaction. “How… How did you even think of this? I mean, how did you figure that this was my kind of thing?”
“You should know by now that a great percentage of what you do here is being reported to me…” He said plainly, but a smile appeared on my face. It was actually cringe that he was keeping an eye on me, but it also meant that he cared.
I turned to him, my eyes sparkling. “This is incredible! I’ve always wanted a place like this where I could combine my love for technology with my fascination for the universe.” I ran my fingers over the controls of a nearby telescope, eager to delve into the mysteries of space.
“Let’s check out Orion,” I suggested, adjusting the telescope. Asher moved closer, his presence comforting as he stood beside me.
“Let’s see how much of this you know,” he said, sticking a little closer to me than expected.
I guided the telescope towards the constellation. “There! You can see the three stars of Orion’s Belt. And over there,” I pointed, “is the Orion Nebula. It’s a stellar nursery where new stars are born.”
Asher leaned in, his eyes wide with wonder. “Hmm…“I could sense the pride beaming from him as I spoke, explaining several aspects of

the space in ways that many had not even thought of.

“I had no idea you were this knowledgeable about space.” He commended. “I always thought you were just tech, but thank goodness I brought you here as well.”
I laughed softly, feeling a warm blush creeping up my cheeks. “Trust me, there’s many more you don’t know I can do.”

He turned to me, a little bit of intrigue in his eyes. But he remained silent, fixing himself behind me as we took turns watching the stars.
“So what inspired you to create such a masterpiece,” I asked, breaking the moment of silence.
Asher’s expression remained neutral as he glanced around the room. “I’ve always been interested in investing in technology,” he began, his voice steady. “But for a long time, our pack didn’t have anyone capable enough to manage such projects. This place was abandoned for years until recently.” He paused, his gaze returning to me. “Now, it seems we have someone who can make proper use of it.”
My eyes widened as his words replayed in my head. “What do you mean?” I asked, not wanting to jump to the conclusion.
“What I mean is obvious, Gemini. I want you to handle everything tech concerning my pack.”
Without thinking, I jumped on him, my heart beaming with so much joy. “You don’t mean it, Asher.” His hands grabbed my butt as he tried to stabilize us to prevent us from falling to the ground.
“This is the list I could do for you…” He said.
I couldn’t tell if it was the same Asher I used to know. The same King Asher… What could be the reason for this sudden change?
