Chapter 91
Becca’s POV
“A man that gets you beaten up and treats you so badly doesn’t deserve you.” Nora spat, disgust evident in her tone. “I don’t care if he is the Lycan King or the Goddess’s assistant, no man deserves to treat a woman that way.”
Although she was right, I scoffed, “You think so shallow sometimes,” my words caused Nora’s mouth to fall open in surprise. “If only you understood sacrifice, you wouldn’t be saying this shit.”
“But Becca-?”
“It’s fine, I don’t expect you to get the concept, but soon it will become clear to you what I’m trying to achieve,”
Nora’s eyes narrowed, her face twisted in frustration. “What’s going on, Becca? You’re starting to scare me.”
I smiled a cold, calculated smile. “You don’t need to understand, Nora. Just trust that I know what I’m doing.”
The confusion on Nora’s face spoke volumes, but as I said, soon it would be clear to everyone and by then, It would be too late to do anything against it, or even stop it.
“Now come on, let’s get out of here.”
“Huh..” Nora blurted as if still in a daze.
“I thought we agreed to visit the mall, why do you look so confused now?”
“Oh, that!” She said holding onto her chest.
I let out a deep chuckle, knowing what had possibly played in her head. I took out my Louis Vuitton bag, my phone and my card. This expensive lifestyle wasn’t going to renew itself, I had to change my wardrobe as well as my game.
As I stepped into the store, the familiar buzz of luxury surrounded me. “Welcome back ma’am, it’s been a while since you were last here.” The staffs greeted me.
The racks were filled with the latest trends, and I couldn’t just wait to be seen in them. This was my escape. I picked out a few dresses, imagining how they would look on me.
But when I approached the counter, the cashier’s smile faded. “I’m sorry, ma’am, but your card has been declined.”
My heart sank. “What do you mean declined?” I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. This couldn’t be happening. I swiped again, but the same message flashed back at me.
Nora’s eyes widened. “Becca, are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” I snapped, trying to keep my cool. I pulled out my phone, fingers trembling as I dialled my father’s number. It rang and rang, but no answer. My stomach twisted in knots. I couldn’t leave empty–handed. The thought of walking out with nothing felt like a stain on me, and I couldn’t afford that.
In a moment of desperation, I made my way to the washroom where I immediately called Angela: “Becca, what is it this time?”
“Angela please, I need you to help me out with some money, I’ll pay you back, I promise!”
“How much are we talking of here?”
“Uhm. About three hundred thousand dollars.” I muttered.
“What?” Angela’s exclamation was so loud that I had to pull the phone from my ear to avoid going deaf. “Why do you suddenly need three hundred thousand dollars?”
“Angela, please.” I said, my voice laced with desperation. “I don’t have time to explain now, please just help me out.”
She dropped the call and a few minutes later, my phone buzzed with two different messages. One was a credit alert and the other was a message from Angela. “Meet me once you’re done”

Chapter 91
Immediately I was done sorting things out at the mall, I turned to Nora. “Nora,” I said, forcing a smile. “Can you help me take my things home? I need to stop by the King’s palace afterwards.”
“Of course,” she replied, still looking worried.
Once I got to the palace, I rushed towards Angela’s favourite spot, the balcony. “Thank you for saving me from total embarrassment back there,” I said, catching my breath.
Angela looked at me, her expression serious. “What happened, Becca? You’re not usually this flustered.”
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. “You can’t imagine how messy my life has become. Thanks to Asher and his little mate.”
Thanks to them, I lost some of my important modelling clients and I was almost going broke, Almost? I’d gone broke. But I certainly wasn’t going to let this slide.
“I understand…” She said, a troubled look clouding her expression.
“So— what was it that you wanted to speak to me about?” I asked, shifting to the main reason I was here.
“Still haven’t gotten any threatening messages from Gemini. Have you?” Her expression seemed to hint at her expectations.
I didn’t realise when a laugh erupted from me. “Oh Angie!” Angela face contorted into a frown but it only made me laugh even more.
“Really. Is that why you are worried?” I shook my head in disbelief. “You of all people should know that Gemini is not as tough as she
acts.“.
“I mean, she tried to use Asher to get back at me, but she doesn’t know that I have my ways around Asher. And even if Asher is not willing to admit it, I know he still feels something for me.”
Angela still looked filled with worry, almost like she had foreseen something that threatened her. “Becca, she had Asher lock you up for months, Two months- Do you really think she isn’t planning something bigger?”
*Come on, Angela. Since when did you become a scared cat? A wolf–less werewolf got nothing on me.”
“Don’t be too confident, Becca. You can never be too sure.”
My phone beeped with a message, interrupting my conversation with Angela. I checked the screen only to realise that it was from my dad. “Excuse me,” I muttered before focusing on my phone.
The message read: “Cute–bunny, sorry I didn’t pick your calls. I was busy convincing Asher to get the documents signed.”
“And?” I texted back.
“It’s all set. I was able to convince him to sign it.”
A smile of accomplishment crept onto my face. “What would I do without you my oldie?” I texted back with a smile.
Angela watched me in confusion, clearly expecting an explanation for the wide smile I had on. When I didn’t say a word, she proceeded to ask. “What is that about?”
“It’s nothing,” I said dismissively.
“Nothing? I don’t believe you. All that smile can’t be for nothing. So spill…”
“Okz
