Chapter 121
“I told you to wake me up, right? Why didn’t you wake me up?” Jasmine felt bad because Kellan had to stay awake the whole night, it happened with Ethan too and she felt like a burden for the two of them at time like this.
Kellan might have reached Great Darren city if it was not for her weak constitute and if she could keep up with his stamina and Ethan would be fine if he didn’t need to protect someone as incompetence as she was. Those warriors that came with her would have been alive if she was not very immature to leave the palace because of her rejection.
“Stop sulking. I have tried to wake you up countless time, but you slept like a dead log.”
“I didn’t!” Jasmine raised her voice, she glared at him.
“Yes. You even snored.” Kellan smirked when he saw the look on Jasmine’s face.
“I didn’t! I didn’t snore!” Jasmine was adamant, it was very embarrassing. She didn’t snore, did she? Ethan didn’t say anything when she slept in front of him, or it might be because he was too nice to say it to her and she indeed snored?
“How do you know if you were not snoring when you were sleeping like a dead log?”
Ugh! This man got on her nerves!
“I didn’t snore! I refused to believe that, huft!” Jasmine was adamant, she walked toward the north, but Kellan grabbed her hand.
“Wrong direction, princess.” Kellan laughed out loud this time when he directed her to the south, her face turned red because of anger and embarrassment, she raised her leg to kick him, but unfortunately, he saw it and she was too slow for the lycan, thus he could dodge it with ease. “I don’t know that you are very feisty, princess. But, you are so cute when you were upset.”
“Oh, you don’t know me well if you thought I am cute,” Jasmine replied sarcastically. She then shifted into her beast, ending this meaningless argumentation, while Kellan simply chuckled.
He didn’t mean to provoke her, but being angry was better, since she needed this energy for their upcoming journey. He warned her that this would be an arduous journey, since the path could be extreme.
Jasmine looked slightly worried when he informed her about that, but with Kellan’s easy going nature, she calmed down a bit.
They ran together through the howling, cold wind and only stopped for a while to take a breath near the frozen lake. Actually, it was Jasmine, who needed a break, while Kellan was being accommodating to her limited strength.
He pierced the layer of the frozen lake, so she could drink.
“How far we will arrive in Great Darren city?” Jasmine asked, she felt her muscles ached so bad, but she didn’t want to complain, she was already a burden for him at this point, she didn’t want to add more.
“If we ran in this pace, probably the day after tomorrow.” Kellan stared at the sunset, the sky had turned bleak again. “We need to find a place for us to stay for tonight.”
Jasmine looked around her, they were still in the woods, yesterday they got lucky enough to be able to find a cave, but she didn’t think this time would be the same.
However, she was not going to complain.
“Stay behind that tree, I will scour around to see a place for us to stay the night,” Kellan said, he pointed at the tree that was hidden away, but from there Jasmine could see their surroundings.
“No. I am going with you,” Hazel said quickly. “I don’t want to be left behind.
“Is it because you will miss me?”
“I am afraid you will be mauled by a rabbit,” Jasmine replied nonchalantly. She didn’t want to be left alone here where she didn’t know what would happen to Kellan. She was afraid and the lycan could see that and he joked to lessen the tension.
“Let’s go then. Stay close with me.”
Jasmine followed his instruction and tried to keep up with his pace. Kellan used to joke around, but Jasmine knew this man

wouldn’t do anything inappropriate with her. He had protected her and fed her this whole journey.
Thankfully, they found a dry spot for them to lay down for the night, but the cold night wind made it hard for Jasmine to sleep, her teeth were clattering and she was trembling from head to toe.
That was when Kellan approached her.
“Hey, I don’t mean to be inappropriate, but your clattering teeth make it hard for me to fall asleep.”
Jasmine wanted to talk back to him, but she couldn’t, since she was afraid that she would bite her own tong
“This is only between us, okay. This is the case of emergency.” Kellan then laid down next to her.
They did it before, thus Jasmine didn’t need to blush like a little girl, but fortunately for her, she was too cold for blushing. And when her skin touched his warmth, she wanted more. As shameless as it sounded, Jasmine was the one, who hugged him, she snuggled against him and buried her face against his chest, entangled their legs together.
“Th- this is e- emergency,” Jasmine said through her clattering teeth, she was ready for Kellan to tease her, but lucky for her, the lycan didn’t say anything, he simply hugged her back, literally blanketed her body with his, which kept her warm.
They stayed like that for the entire night and both of them fell asleep, because they were too exhausted to stay awake.
The next day, Kellan woke her up like usual and they went to hunt something to eat, yet when they were about to leave, Kellan pulled her back.
“What is it?” Jasmine asked, she could see how his face turned hard. She knew right away before he told her.
“They are here,” he confirmed that.
