“What are you talking about Clara? I haven’t sent out anyone to attack Damon yet. We’re still strategizing” My uncle explained to me and I scoffed.
“Funny thing is that they weren’t even aiming for him but for me. Do you really want me dead?” I questioned and I heard him inhale sharply.
“You can accuse me of a lot of things but there’s no way I’ll have any of my men attack you, Clara. I would never do that. Why are you sure it was us?” He questioned.
“Because humans are the only ones who rely on weapons. Damon was shot by a gun. If it were a supernatural being, they would have attacked head on” I explained to him and he sighed.
“But you all still use weapons, do you not? So why are you so it was my group of hunters? Look, if we were the ones to attack, we won’t need to hide or attack in secret. When your husband killed my people, he didn’t do it in secret so therefore, we would attack head on and even if we were the ones who attacked him, do you really have the audacity to be mad? Your husband killed thousands of my people for crying out loud” He said to me and I frowned knowing he was saying the truth and was making sense but sense didn’t matter to me when it came to Damon’s safety.
“The only reason Damon killed your people was because you kidnapped me. The other killings weren’t done by him. The real perpetrator is trying to frame him so everyone will be against him” I explained to him and he was quiet for a while.
“Doesn’t still matter, Lady bug. Your husband and your people are a threat to humanity and…”
“If you fall into this trap and help the real enemies in getting rid of Damon, humanity will be wiped either way. The Lycans are trying to get Damon out of the way for a reason. They know he’s the only one that can stand in their way to achieving total world domination. If you kill Damon, they will come for you” I told him and he scoffed.
“Then they should, we will kill them as well” My uncle uttered and I clenched my fist to stop myself from yelling at him. He was so stubborn.
“Yeah but the only problem now is that the Lycan King is immortal. That means your little bullet won’t work on him,” I revealed and I heard him inhale sharply.
“What did you just say? Immortal? That’s impossible,” He muttered to himself.
“Many things are possible in my world, uncle. He achieved it with devious means and he’s probably getting ready to attack Damon and all werewolves. If you help and you both eventually win, I can assure you that he will kill you and your people. Do you really want to side with the devil?” I questioned and he went quiet for a while.
“What are you implying?” He questioned and I sighed, knowing I was finally getting to him.
“Side with the werewolves. Together, we may be able to get rid of the Lycans and I can assure you that Damon won’t attack the humans. We’ll all have our boundaries” I told him and I heard him sigh.
“Clara, Damon…”
“I know that Damon has done a lot of bad things but everyone deserves a second chance. All we want is peace… All I want is peace. I cannot bring my children into a world where their father or people are dead. Where they are not accepted” I uttered and he gasped.
“Children?” He questioned softly and I smiled. I hadn’t really told anyone we were having twins.
“Damon and I are having twins” I told him and he gasped again.

“That’s wonderful, congratulations. Your parents must be very proud” He uttered softly and I nodded.

“As you can imagine, Damon and I have no business hunting down anyone because we’ll be too busy trying to take care of our family” I said to him and I heard him sigh.
“How are you so sure that Damon won’t turn around and try to attack us again?” He questioned and I frowned.
“I have given you my word, uncle. Damon would never try anything like that but if he does, I’ll kill myself to make it up to you” I told him, meaning every damn word and I heard him inhale sharply.
“That’s the last thing I want, lady bug” He uttered And I sighed
“So help me. All Damon and I want is to be happy and raise our children in peace. Tell your guys to stand down and not to attack him anymore. Help us defeat the Lycans and you’ll never hear from us again” I assured him.
“I’ll have to think about it. We should meet up And talk about this properly. How did that Lycan become immortal? There has to be some side effects” He muttered mainly to himself.
I was about to reply when I heard someone’s footsteps heading towards this way.
“I have to go uncle, we’ll talk another time” I said then immediately hung up and threw the phone on the bed before running towards the door as soon as it opened up.
It was Luca.
“Damon is awake. Luckily, we were able to remove the bullet and although it was dripping with wolfbane, Damon is kind of immune to it because he has been training himself for years” Luca told him and I heaved a loud sigh of relief.
“Take me to him” I ordered and he nodded before leading me downstairs only to see Damon walking in with Dimitri by his side.
As soon as Dimitri saw me, he slowly let go of Damon and I immediately towards him with tears streaming down my
cheeks.
“I was so scared. Why didn’t you let me come with you?” I questioned while still crying and I heard him sigh as he caressed my head.
Tan sorry. I had to make sure everywhere was safe first. Are you okay? Did you get hurt?” He questioned as he slowly pulled away to inspect me and I shook my head.
“How could I have possibly gotten hurt when you took that shot for me, don’t do that again” I warned him and he scoffed.

“My uncle or his people weren’t the ones who fired the shot. It has to be those Lycans” I murmured into his chest.
“Are you so sure?” He questioned.
“The shot was meant for me. My uncle would never hurt me or let anyone hurt me” I told him and he sighed. Enough Clara. You don’t know him that well so don’t be so trusting” He said to me and I frowned.
“And is doesn’t matter who fired that shot. The fact remains there you’re not safe here and I can’t protect you as much as I thought I could. I have to handle things before everything gets too crazy and the only way I can do that is if I know you’re somewhere safe. Delilah is already helping you pack your bags. You leave tonight…
