We finally reached a large hill and went up to the top. I could feel the heat of the nearby fires begin to rise against my body like a scorching heated blanket that wrapped around me like a burrito. We approached a large blue and black flame that parted for us as we approached, but as I passed, it flickered and licked my skin lightly. Next thing I know, I am brought to my knees, holding my arm tight against my chest. My charred nerves sent me into an abyss of pain. Looking at my arm, I see a blackened burn; my skin has the texture of charcoal, and it is still steaming. Gracie was shocked and perplexed, but she didn’t say anything. She pulled me up quickly and hastened our pace up the hill, my legs still shaking.
Once we reached the top, I gasped as I saw a beautiful young maiden clad in golden armor, an ornate crown upon her head, fire red hair, and a shining golden dragon mark on her wrist. Her eyes shone bright like Gracie’s vision eyes, but they were not white; one was blue and green. She was yielding a glowing golden sword, swinging the blade effortlessly against a black dragon over 100 feet tall, his sharp teeth snapping and snarling.
This dragon’s wings were unfurled and seemed to be made of black smoke. This dragon was that. This girl’s features were bluared, but she seemed familiar to me. Her movements were rugged as she stood in front of a figure that was lifeless on is the essence of evil. You didn’t have to be a genius to know the ground, clad in gold and black armor. She was swinging without a care in the world, and the strength of her battle cry was so muscular that it shook The ground under our feet,

everything around her, but she was left untouched.
A whisper was almost as soft as a butterfly flapping its wings, beginning to chant: The Darkness rising in the shadows can anly be defeated by the one who cant quench the fire of House Azrael. The world shall burn, and blood will bring peace. This wasn’t very ominous and confusing at all.
My vision once again was blinded by a white light. Now, I am in an alleyway in a modern city was full of glass and steel. It looks vaguely familiar. A cloaked figure in the shadows, running along a wall late at night, barely visible by the hovering streetlights. The figure approached an from gate and approached a small hut at the corner. We approached the figure just as the person removed the hood from their heat, revealing a small brunette woman. She removed a sleeping baby from her clock and swaddled in a thick fleece blanket. An envelope tucked inside the wrap. She hugged the child once last time and muttered the strange words I had heard before: May your blood bring pence upon the realurs, May The Migk of Old forever protect you, my sweet child. May we meet again one day.
The baby was placed at the gate, the buzzer was rung, and the woman quickly ran back into the shadows. A figure appeared at the gate shortly after, i stout older woman, and she picked up the still–sleeping child and took her inside.
The white light appeared before my eyes once more and then slowly faded into black before I saw Gracie appear in front of me again. My
vision adjusted quickly. I looked around and noticed we were back in the garden. My mates all have wide eyes and a look of shock. Atticus face is pure horror. as he gently holds my right arm. I look down and notice a black patch of charred skin, and a stinging pain floods my nervous system. Silent tears stream down my face, and then there is a hurry of movement, all six of my mates trying to reach for me and console me somehow. Their touch was pleasant and welcoming, and my body was still in a state of shock.
I looked at them, speechless as to what to say to them, I looked then at Gracie, who looked perplexed before I heard her speak again, “Well, that was interesting.”

– Not A Dream
Gracie
“Well, that was interesting,” I said. All the Dragon Kings and Everly looked at me like I had suddenly grown three heads: “What I exclaimed in retaliation. It was indeed exciting. The kings quickly diverted their attention hack to the little sprite of a human mate, doting on her.
This tiny human is not what she seems. In my twenty–thousand–plus years, I have never walked the vision path with someone else, much less a human And she was physically affected by it. I have seen those visions thousands of times, and never has something like this happened.
“May I please see your arm, Everly?” I asked sweetly. I got an earful of growls as an initial response. “Oh, bush Settle down, your big teddy bears. I need to see her arm” Fadded, trying not to overstep my boundaries as their mate bonds are still freshs, and their possessive nature is astronomical.
“It’s okay.” Everly said gently, taking a moment to acknowledge each of her mates. Using her good arm, she reached over and patted Atticus hands, which were gripping her thighs, in a reassuring gesture,
She pivots her body slowly in her chair towards me and then sticks out her injured arm. She winced at the pain when she stretched the burnt making her mates once again panic and growl.
“Calm down!” I command in my warning tone. I helped raise these men, and they know better than to groval at ine,
I gently took Everly’s arm and slowly turned it, looking at her for permission to continue. She nodded, and I could twist her am slightly to see the whole burn. There was a significant swollen red and black mark in the shape of a flame the size of an index card resting on the outside skin of her forearm. I asked her if I could touch it, and she nodded yes.
It is raised slightly and hot to the touch. I am immune to dragon fire, which is the hottest flame ever created, and yet this flame felt hat, and it left a chill down my spine. My hand froze over the burn like I was paralyzed in my body. Every nerve was unable to react. The cold seeped into my bones, and my body started to tremble as if submerged in arctic waters. My vision became black, and I fell into the abyss of the blackest darkness. My world was spinning as I continued to descend into the void; my head felt like it would shatter, and the bitter cold surrounded me like a snow bath,
“Everly,” I heard a whisper in my ear.
Everly? I am not Everly.
“Everly, my sweet.” I heard this whisper again. It was male and deep baritone, smooth as silk and yet majestically rough like the course bark of the Willow Water Trees. It was intoxicating and luring.
“Everly,” the whisper continues to haunt me next to my ear, and the further I descend into the dark abyss, the colder I feel. My lungs feel like they are filling with water, my airways constricted, and I panic. The spinning stops, but a flash of white light creates a shadow before me, terrorizing me. The shadow was in the shape of a man, broad and robust. His eyes glow red, but the rest of his features are covered in black.
The whispers continue, flashes of light flash, and the man moves around the voided space before me.
“I am coming for you, Everly. No magic will stop me. You will be mine.”
An image then flashes in my mind. It is a brutal, bloody scene where the Dragon Kings are lying on the ground, clad in their finest battle armor, with bloody swords. They are covered in blood and are motionless. A raging inferno surrounds them, the impossible heat blanketing my skin, yet the painful tundra keeps my body in shivers. A crying Everly in the middle of them, clutching her heart in agony as I see her silently wailing in despair, a dark shadow form standing tall behind her, a dark, bloody sword dripping crimson at his side, a leash and collar dangling in his free hand, his red piercing cold eyes staring at her like she is the grand prize.
The image fades from my mind, and darkness again consumes my surroundings. I feel wetness on my cheeks and realize I am crying a river of sorrow at the horrific image before me. I have never seen such a frightening scene.
“Who are you? Show yourself,” Everly bravely o feel my worries mimic her.
commands, although you can hear the fear shaking her vocal cords. I bet tears are close to being shed. I
“You may call me Darkness, my dear. I will see you soon.” The voice rasps against my neck. My heart feels like it is stopping. His face becomes clear to me in another flash, a face I have not seen in lifetimes–a face of nightmares and destruction. I see a flash of his red eyes once again before the shadows consume me, and I feel a breath of fresh air harshly fill my lungs as I am jolted toward a blinding white light.
I gasp at the intrusion of my lungs, panting and slowing my heart. I am no longer standing holding Everly’s burnt arm, but I am lying on a lounger near the breakfast table, seven concerned faces looking down at me. Everly was sitting next to me, her thigh pushing against my hip, one hand holding my

“What happened?” I questioned.
“We were hoping you could tell us?” Said Everly’s sweet, gentle voice. “Your eyes went black, and then your nose started to bleed. You fell to the ground and started crying, your body started convulsing, and your skin felt like it was on fire, so we had a cloth and water fetched.”
I sat up slowly, feeling like a pride of wild ligers mauled my whole body.
I took a moment to center myself before I started to recant what I saw, realizing that it was a vision I had never experienced before. When I described the image. Everly gasped and began to try.
“Hey, it’s okay,” I try to reassure her, but she starts frantically shaking her head. “No, it’s not! That was exactly what I saw in my dream last night!” She says, panic crossing her face.
My eyes widen at this new revelation. This human is something extraordinary.
I saw the guys exchange worried expressions. Tristian and Alexander, being the closest to Everly, wasted no time in scooping her up. She was placed on Tristian’s lap, and Alez wrapped an arm around her waist. Both nuzzled their noses in her neck.
“Gracie, what exactly is going on?” Lucien asks. Ever since he was a boy, Lucien has been the presumptive leader of the group. He grew u and is by far the most level headed of the group.

“I don’t know, Lucien,” I say solemnly. “I don’t know how I could see Everly’s dream, is, we are in greater danger than we first believed.”
but
that was the most terrifying vision ever. If it is what I think it
“What do you mean danger, Gracie?” Octavius huffed out, his anger beginning to rise. He was always a bit of a rushed hot head.
War is coming sooner than we would hope, and based on the images now burning in my brain, he is more powerful than I first thought. He has spent thousands of years feeding off human misery and growing in power. He will not stop until he consumes everything beautiful and innocent, corrupting it and leaving chaos in his wake. And now he has his sights on Everly. I do not know what he knows about her, but he never does anything without a reason. He knows something that we have yet to figure out. I must connect with the Spirits, and sadly, I must reveal what I know,
“It was Lord Darkness, my Kings,” I say cautiously, watching my Kings eyebrows rise in concern as they all continue to watch me with bated breath. “1 haven’t seen his face since I was a youngling. But I could never forget the face of pure evil as I watched him in my visions and the flesh slaughter so many innocents and corrupt so many others. It was him. He showed his face. He gave Everly a warning and a vision, a very dangerous one at that. He is coming, and we are all in great danger now. It is now more important than ever that we begin to prepare for War, and let’s hope that the prophecy of old comes to pass, for it will be our only saving grace.” I am shaking like a leaf in the wind when I am done. Luckily, Lucien reaches over and holds my hand comfortably.
My peace is short–lived when it is disrupted by the sweet, girly voice asking the one question I was hoping to avoid right now, but 1 was not expecting the fire that came with it.
“What fucking prophecy?”
