11 Magic and Darkness

Everly
I was in shock. Lucien had placed the Oracle, a creature of legend and myth revered to be one of the most powerful essences in existence, mationless on a sunbed on the terrace near the table where we were. I took a seat near her thighs and held her hand, trying to comfort a stranger I felt such strong connection to. My mates surrounded us, and we waited with hated breath.
Her nose bled at one point, and even though her eyes were closed, you could see them frantically moving. She let out small moans, and her breath was shallow and ragged. Her body would twitch and still occasionally. It was like watching someone have a nightmare right before your very eyes. To say I was concerned would be an understatement.
Even though I only knew a fraction of this supernatural world, I could tell by observing the guys around me that they cared deeply for this sleeping beauty. I don’t have to be a mystical creature with superior features to acknowledge a strong bond between these men and this woman, but I am positive it is strictly more familial.
When Gracie let out an earth–shattering scream, my heart would have leaped twenty feet in the air if it wasn’t already caged by muscle and bone. Her eyes fluttered open, and the look on her face said it all. The fear on her face never left her perfect features while we talked to her. She saw my nightmare. She called the shadow man ‘Lord Darkness.” But when she said that sweet little word “prophecy,‘ I had a gut feeling that my world would implode and I wouldn’t be spewing out confetti and birthday cake. Just the thought of something being connected to me made my hackles rise. Something didn’t feel right, and I learned from a young age to trust my gut. These men knew something, and I felt a soft simmer of anger grow on the surface.
Before I could filter my emotions, I shouted out, “What fucking prophecy?”
I immediately covered my mouth and closed my eyes tight, letting embarrassment flood my cheeks. I felt Tristian’s arms squeeze my waist tighter and a soft rumble vibrating against my back, I slowly opened one eye and peeked out before I felt a strong hand remove the hand covering my mouth and then move my chin to face the calm, devilish face of Alexander.
He bent down a little to meet my face. All these men were at least a foot taller than me. I already felt small, but when he got to my level, I felt like I was about to be scolded like a little child who had just stolen a cookie from the kitchen “Oh, little mate,” he says slowly with his sultry voice. I feel a little pool in my panties. “That was not ladylike at all! I would hate for your first lesson in royal manners to be with a sore bum. Hm?” He scolded me.
1 shyly nod at him, still feeling so small under his heated gaze.
“Words F
Everly.” Tristian commands next to my ear.
I swallow the invisible knot in my throat before I reply with a simple “Yes, sir.” I notice at my words a few of the men try to hold back small groans of approval. To push my luck even further, I add a sweet
sorry, sirs.” I receive a smile from Alexander and a kiss on my cheek from Tristian.
“Good girl!” Alexander says, bopping my nose playfully. If I wasn’t already red, I am sure I look like a red starburst now. Something about his made Insides flutter with anticipation. Part of me, like a massive part of me, wanted to see them make good on that promise. But not today, well,
promise maybe not right now,
Gracie was given something to drink, and seats were brought for all the guys. I was placed on Jupiter’s lap, and one of the servants handed him a bowl of fruit.
“Buckle up, buttercup. I will show you your prophecy. The history you know is only partial. This is the real story,” Gracie said before her eyes turned white as snow, and she pushed out her powers into our minds. Since we are connected to the same magic as Gracie, we can see the silver and gold tethers she connects to us. The pure power illuminating our bodies like a blanket of warmth, a smell of rain and disles overpowered my senses. Blackness consumed our eyes, and her voice boomed inside our heads with her tale. Images of the past began to play before my eyes like a motion picture.
“Many millennia ago, magic was not like we know it today. It was wild, untamable, raw power, born from a seed of the most ancient magical essence. The elements and spirits ravaged the land, sea, and sky. The gods created a vessel for the lands with which the mystical nature of life could flow and be contained. She was named Magic, for that was her duty, and was bestowed a gift of pure power. With her many gifts, she created incredible life; over time, these lifeforms matured and evolved
Eventually, all kinds of creatures that flourished day and night were manifested and thrived in the lands. Some species developed their own gifts when they found a way to connect their souls to the otherworldly power that coursed through their veins.

controlled easily, the gods had made her a twin, known as Darkness. A small fraction of evil lived alongside Magic to ensure the balance of nature. As the world and the creatures evolved, Magic soon began channeling her power into her creations and became the mother of all beauty and love. Her raw power became the light that we all wish to cling to
Sadly, Darkness was always kept in the shadows, hidden from his more powerful and well–known twin sister. His jealousy festered and grew to insane hatred. He found a way to create chaos within some beautiful creatures Magic created. Once enough chaos was in the world, Darkness could channel it and manifest his creations. Once mastered, he made a son named Sin from his embodiment.
Darkness soon grew in his power, feeding off the insecurities from the seeds of darkness he planted in his victims. One day, he escaped the depths of the shadows with his son and, from their essence, created their shadows of destruction together.
As the creatures from Magic evolved, the shadows and sinister predators from Darkness evolved with them. They lurked in the darkness, looking for weaknesses to exploit, conquer, and devour. They fed on the fears of others and relished bathing in the blood of their victims. Even the brightest lights could be dimmed in the dark.
No matter how much pure life Magic created, Darkness always followed and found ways to grow and become stronger, Prosperity and peace were soon destroyed by blood and war. The creatures and species seemed to become more divided, and Magic could no longer sustain that much life by herself.
Soon, darkness spread faster than light, becoming more potent as it consumed more of Magic’s pure light. But Magic was wise and realized that the world it created was no longer ideal. There could never be peace if there were no orders. Magic’s light was slowly dimming, its essence being washed out by her brother Darkness.
But Magic loved her world and creations too much to let them perish in her brothers hands. She decided to make one last gift for the world, even though doing so could destroy her. She created the mighty creature with the purest heart and strongest will from her purest essence, full of raw power, wonder, and awe: the Dragons Azrael, Azullia, and Axcus. These three brothers were bound by blood and forged from the core of the oldest magic.
The brothers were each given dominion over the essence of magic on Earth. They were now the keepers of light and protectors of the old magic, and with their power, they were bestowed gifts to tame the elements and spirits that flourished in the land.
Darkness and his followers banded together and created a massive army as Darkness sought to rule the lands a and life itself. The brothers and their followers fought gallantly in a vast, bloody war.
and take possession of all the old magic
After many nights of bloodshed, the brothers fought Lord Darkness in combat. Darkness saw the carnage of the mighty Dragon Kings. When the Dragons came for him, Lord Darkness called the shadows and black magic of his followers and transformed himself into a Shadow Dragon, mighty and full of the darkest depths of evil. The Dragons soon clashed together in a battle of the sharpest claws and snapping jaws of death. They left trails of scorching fire, and the air was full of black smoke.
In a stroke of luck, Darkness found a way to get under the mighty Dragon brothers believed impenetrable scales. Sadly, one of Darkness’s claws badly Injured Axtus‘ dragon and nearly shredded it
