Chapter 23 Impressive
Xavier had some more work to finish up in Solvian. On the way. to the airport, he kept reminding me of all sorts of things–like not wandering off and making sure to let him know I arrived safely at Juville.
I couldn’t help but laugh, “Xavier, I’m an adult now. I’m not a child anymore.”
“That doesn’t mean you can be careless. Mr. Stafford
specifically told me to take care of you. If anything happens to you on the way, he’ll have my hide for sure,” Xavier said as he got out of the car to help me with my luggage.
I waved goodbye to him and headed to the departure hall. While going through security, I suddenly heard a familiar voice, speaking in a low tone.
“Samuel, could you stop being so unreasonable?”
“My aunt is in Solvian. I came here to visit her. The marks on my neck are from a massage session I had with her. Instead of asking if I’m unwell, you’re accusing me of having hickeys?”
It was Madison speaking. She was wearing a white dress and holding her phone, video chatting with Samuel. He was suspicious that she had another man with her, which made her
furious.
Before Samuel could respond, Madison said, “Believe what you want. If you’re going to be this suspicious of me, then maybe I just won’t go back to Juville.”

After hanging sap, she called someone else and continued
chatting for a while, looking shy and flirtatious. She didn’t notice me at all
When she walked toward the boarding gate, her posture was odd, and I wondered what was wrong with her.
A nearby passenger whispered to their companion, “Did you see that girl in the white dress? You can tell just by looking that she must have gone at it multiple times last night.”
was stunned. Wow. How could someone tell that just from looking at her?
Poor Samuel–spending his birthday alone in Juville, drowning in longing while Madison was off having her fun with another man. Solvian and Juville were a few hundred kilometers apart-
just over an hour’s flight.
By the time we landed, Madison had already struck up a lively
conversation with the guy sitting next to her. They even exchanged numbers and talked about grabbing a meal sometime. Wow. She really was a master flirt.
Not wanting to run into Madison, I deliberately took my time getting off the plane. I lingered in the airport a bit longer on the pretense of texting Xavier.
When I finally came out with my suitcase, there was a
commotion at the exit. Through the crowd, I could vaguely see
Samuel dressed casualty, with a doctor in a white coat standing next to him.
It looked like Samuel was here to pick someone up, but
Madison thought he didn’t trust her. Why else would he bring a doctor along? They started arguing right there in the airport.
I was too far away to hear exactly what Madison was saying in her heated state, but I saw Samuel’s face turn pale. ‘Fine! Let’s go to the hospital and get tested then!”
Whoa! This couldn’t be happening. If they actually got tested, Madison’s secret about being a player wouldn’t stay hidden for long. I quickly stepped forward.
‘Madison!‘ Then, I slapped her across the face. “That slap was payback for stepping on my foot at the massage center yesterday!‘
Madison covered her face, shocked and furious. Samuel was
stunned too.
He must have believed my words and thought that the marks on Madison’s neck were from a massage session because he immediately pulled her behind him.
*Julia, are you out of your mind?” he shouted while raising his hand as if to slap me back for her.
Madison quickly grabbed his arm. “Samuel, she’s just crazy. She couldn’t have you, so she’s causing trouble for me now. You know I never like to stir up drama. I don’t care what she thinks of me as long as you believe me…”

further, Samuel pulled her into his arms and apologized for his earlier outburst. Then, he shot me a look of disgust.
“Julia, don’t even try to say your aunt was in Solvian too!!”
His tone accused me of stalking Madison. However, I replied directly, “I didn’t catch her in the act this time, but just wait. One of these days, I’ll catch her red–handed so you can see for yourself what kind of woman she really is.”
With that, I turned and walked away.
By the time I got into a taxi, I could see from the rearview mirror that Madison and Samuel were kissing passionately
Look at that. They couldn’t stay apart, and it was all thanks to my matchmaking efforts.
