Chapter 5
Alpha Albert pressed his face against my hand, gently closing his eyes.
It was as if we were still in the moment before the truth had been uncovered.
He acted as if he were whining beside me, but this time, I would never be able to respond to him again.
The news of Luna’s death quickly spread throughout the pack. Many stood anxiously outside the hospital, hoping to catch a final glimpse of me.
“Alpha Albert, everyone’s here. Let them say their goodbyes to Luna, then we can lay her to rest.”

The director advised from behind Alpha Albert.
Normally, Alpha Albert would have been like a cat by my side, but upon hearing those words, he whipped around, glaring at the director with murderous intent.
“Luna is mine.”
With that, Alpha Albert immediately shifted to his wolf form, carrying my body and leaping out the hospital window.
When they arrived home, Alpha Albert’s eyes were filled with extremism. He placed my body on the bed.
“Luna, is it because the house is too chaotic that you won’t wake up? I’ll clean it up.”
Alpha Albert kissed my cold lips and began

tidying up the mess.
The shattered mirror I had thrown, the bloodstained carpet, and the clothes of his I had found on the full moon night.
He cleaned everything methodically, his expression unreadable.
Once finished, Alpha Albert lay beside me, holding both my hands.
“Luna, good night.”
The next day, Beta James and Gamma stormed into the room.
Alpha Albert simply sat on the bed, still holding my lifeless hands.
“Alpha Albert! What are you doing? First, you took Luna’s body last night, and today, you’re

not patrolling the pack like you always do!”
Beta James shouted in frustration.
“You can’t stay with Luna’s body anymore. She needs to be laid to rest.”
Beta James moved to take my body away, but Alpha Albert immediately shifted again, positioning himself as a wolf in front of me.
“No one is taking my Luna!”
Seeing this, the others hesitated, and Beta James glanced at Gamma behind him, who quickly understood and rushed out.
“Alpha Albert,” Beta James‘ tone softened slightly. “Everyone knows that when you were with Luna, it wasn’t your intention. It was the Moon Goddess‘ guidance. The Moon Goddess can make mistakes

sometimes. Perhaps you and Luna aren’t meant to be each other’s mates after all.”
Alpha Albert lowered his head, and the hostility he had toward Beta James seemed to lessen.
Seeing this shift in Alpha Albert’s attitude, Beta James felt a sense of relief and continued to persuade him.
“You know about Sini and her mate. On the night of the full moon, wasn’t it because of that matter that you left Luna?”
“Alpha Albert, Luna’s death wasn’t your fault.”
After hearing Beta James‘ words, Alpha Albert shifted back to his human form, and the animosity in his eyes faded.
Beta James patted Alpha Albert’s shoulder.

“Now, you can mate with Sini, and we’ll all bless you.”
Alpha Albert didn’t respond, remaining seated by the bed, his hand tightly gripping mine, gazing at me with a softened expression.
“I told you back then, I couldn’t let her be Luna. Even now, she won’t let my dear son be.”
Alpha Albert’s mother’s voice came from the door, as Gamma had found help.
Indeed, moments later, Alpha Albert’s parents hurried into the room.
His mother’s eyes softened when she saw Alpha Albert, but when her gaze landed on my body beside him, a flash of distaste

appeared in her eyes.
“Hurry and bury her, Alpha Albert. You need to find another Luna,” she urged.
