The two of them casually dug a hole and placed my body inside.
“Luna, you and Alpha Albert really weren’t meant to be. Maybe the Moon Goddess made a mistake,” Beta James and Gamma said, finishing their task and speaking to my gravestone.
The gravestone bore just one line:
“Alpha Albert’s first Luna.”
Meanwhile, Alpha Albert was patrolling the pack with the warriors.
When the pack members saw him, their eyes flickered with a mix of sadness and pity.
After all, Alpha Albert had claimed to

outsiders that my death was the result of an attack from a rival pack.
As they patrolled to Sini’s house, she was already waiting for them outside.
The petite, charming Omega had changed into a soft, elegant dress, her eyes filled with a smile as she gazed at Alpha Albert.
In the past, whenever Alpha Albert saw Sini like this, he would always stop to chat, seizing the opportunity to steal another glance at her.
But today, for some reason, when Alpha Albert looked at Sini, the image of me suddenly flashed in his mind.
“Alpha Albert, thank you for comforting me the other night. If it weren’t for you, I honestly don’t know what I would have

done,” Sini said with a soft blush, holding up a plate of freshly baked cookies. “I made some cookies. After you’re done with your patrol, you must come by and try them. I’ll be waiting for you.”
Sini’s words made her face flush even deeper as she glanced at Alpha Albert.
But the more Alpha Albert looked at her, the more he felt she couldn’t compare to me.
Sini’s eyes lacked the same depth, and her lips weren’t as full or as red as mine.
“That’s not necessary. Protecting everyone in the pack is my responsibility, Alpha Albert replied, rejecting her invitation, and turned to leave.
Sini, seeing him walk away, rushed to catch up, moving behind him and trying to wrap

her arms around him.
“I know you’ve always liked me, Alpha Albert. I’m willing to become your Luna.”
Alpha Albert pulled away from Sini’s embrace. If this had been before, he would
have been overjoyed that Sini had finally agreed to his pursuit.
But now, as he stood there, all he could see in his mind was my face.
And in his ears, my voice echoed.
“Alpha Albert, can I really become your Luna?”
“I will help you govern the pack, Alpha Albert. I will protect the pack with you. This is our shared home.”

“Alpha Albert.”
Alpha Albert took a deep breath and turned to leave.
As he walked away, Sini, who had been so sweet and innocent before, now wore an expression of pure resentment.
“She’s dead. Why am I still not enough?”
For the next few days, Alpha Albert buried himself in work. After completing his patrols and other duties, he would shift forms and run through the forest at night.
In Alpha Albert’s mind, only through being busy could he forget about me.
“Alpha Albert!”

But his parents weren’t going to let it go. Since Alpha Albert came of age, they had been eager for grandchildren, and now, seeing that he had no mate, they were growing desperate.
“This week, your father and I will handle your work. You and Sini should go out and have some fun.”
Alpha Albert’s mother firmly took the task list from his hands and spoke to him.
“I won’t have a Luna,” Alpha Albert said, looking up to reject her suggestion.
“No matter how you feel about it,” Alpha Albert’s father said, pressing two movie tickets into his hand, “Just go.”
“You know, in our eyes, Sini has always been

your only true Luna,” his mother continued, genuinely confused as to why her son couldn’t let go of me.
Alpha Albert sighed, then turned and left.
He hadn’t returned home in days, and when he finally did, the house no longer smelled of
- me.
Alpha Albert took a deep breath, almost as if trying to find traces of my presence, but found nothing.
“Luna, I miss you so much.”
Alpha Albert held our photo close, murmuring softly to himself.
