Chapter 9
The night of the full moon was approaching.
This time, however, things were different. Alpha Albert had returned home early.
He lay on the bed, surrounded by my belongings–my clothes, my books, and my diary.
These items were scattered haphazardly across the bed, yet there was no trace of my scent left on them.
The heat in his body reminded Alpha Albert.
He needed me.
Desperately.

“Luna.”
Clutching my clothes, Alpha Albert lay on the bed, breathing heavily.
“Luna, Luna, my Luna.”
By the end, there was a tremor of sorrow in his voice.
Suddenly, the door to the room opened.
“Alpha Albert, I’m here to help you. Let me be your Luna.”
It was Sini.
She quickly stepped into the room, reaching out to touch Alpha Albert.
“Get away!”

Alpha Albert slapped Sini’s hand away with force.
But Sini, unfazed, tried again.
“Why does she get to be with you and I don’t? You were with her in the first place because she looked like me.”
Alpha Albert stared at Sini, but in his mind, my face kept replacing hers.
Our faces flickered before his eyes.
“Luna.”
Alpha Albert’s hand still moved to caress Sini’s face. Sini smiled triumphantly, placing her hand over his.
But before long, Alpha Albert yanked her by the hair and threw her out of the room.

“No, you’re not my Luna.””
Struggling to rise, his hands quickly shifted. into wolf claws.
“If you come near me again, I won’t hold back.”
Sensing the murderous intent in Alpha Albert’s eyes and voice, Sini screamed and fled.
Alpha Albert collapsed back onto the bed, his body going limp.
“Luna, I miss you so much. I love you.”
His voice was filled with a deep sigh.
During the time we were together, whenever I asked Alpha Albert why he never said he

loved me, he would always smile and change the subject.
“I love you, I love you.”
Alpha Albert buried his face in my clothes, murmuring softly.
Time seemed to slip away, and he had no sense of how long it had been. Eventually, the first light of dawn broke through, and the night of the full moon came to an end.
Alpha Albert went out to patrol as usual, but he noticed many people carrying flowers toward the cemetery.
“It’s been a month, and life without Luna still feels so strange.”
“Yeah, I’m going to bring flowers to Luna later, too.”

The words of those around him reached Alpha Albert’s ears, and he suddenly realized.
Since I was hastily buried, he hadn’t visited
me once.
“Alpha Albert, any abnormalities?”
A pack warrior asked from behind.
Alpha Albert shook his head. “Continue the patrol.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
Once the patrol was over, Alpha Albert headed to the flower shop.
The shopkeeper was a bit surprised to see him, but quickly smiled.

“Are you buying flowers for Luna, Alpha Albert?”
Alpha Albert nodded. “I want to buy…roses?”
The shopkeeper was a little taken aback. “I thought you would buy lilies, since Luna always liked lilies when she was around. But roses are fine, too. After all, you and Luna were mates”
As the shopkeeper babbled on, Alpha Albert suddenly felt a wave of helplessness.
It seemed like he had no idea what I truly liked.
“Then, I’ll take a bit of everything,” he said.
“Of course, please wait a moment.”

A few minutes later, the shopkeeper handed him a bouquet.
“Everyone’s coming to buy flowers to visit Luna today. That damned beast is so despicable–Luna was such a good person.”
“Thank you.”
Alpha Albert paid, then turned to head for the cemetery.
Despite it being his first time there, Alpha Albert immediately knew which gravestone was mine.
