Nana Lolita was known to be a keen observer and better at judging one’s character. And so, I was eager to listen to her.
“Alpha,” Nana began, her voice calm yet firm.
“I’ve been observing Claire during training. You wouldn’t believe me by simply talking. I have an omega in mind to spar with Claire so you could see her in action.”
I frowned slightly.
“Are you trying to suggest for Claire to be challenged? If you are talking about her fighting skills, I think I have seen enough today.”
Nana chuckled.
“Alpha, Kai. You haven’t seen a devil

unleash her dark self yet.”
I narrowed my eyes. Devil? Was Claire that bad?
“Okay, and challenging her would force her to do that?”
Nana nodded.
“Yes, that’s right! I knew an Omega who had pushed herself to be strong and equally good as Claire. Jade is still young, but she has learned well.”
“Jade’s good, but I don’t want her getting hurt,” I said.
I rubbed the back of my neck. For a moment, I became worried for Jade. I didn’t know what Claire had done to her.
Normally, I would think that Claire was just being a good senior and imparting her knowledge. But Jade just started training three months ago, so something pushed Jade that far.
“Fine. Let’s see how Claire does with Jade.

tomorrow. Maybe she just needs a reminder of what real competition looks
like.”
Nana gave him a knowing look, her weathered face softening.
“Good decision, Alpha Kai. But keep an eye on her. Sometimes, a reminder isn’t enough.”
She turned to leave, and her cane tapped softly against the floor as she walked.
The next day, I stood at my usual spot- hidden from sight yet close enough to watch the training grounds. Claire was already there, stretching and preparing for her sparring session with Jade.
Jade, on the other hand, was trying to keep her nerves in check. I could see the tension in her shoulders, the way she kept glancing at Claire as if expecting the worst. Jade made me doubt if I had made the right
decision, but I needed to see what Nana wanted to imply.

Initially, it began like a regular sparring match. Jade moved quickly, using her smaller size to her advantage. Claire only smirked and looked at her as if she wanted to kill her.
Claire suddenly lunged at Jade, and with every strike, it became harder and more. aggressive. She was not testing Jade; she was punishing her. But for what? Why?
I clenched my fists as I watched Claire knock Jade to the ground, her foot pressing against her chest, pinning her down. Jade grunted in pain, and her wolf wanted to come out, but Jade was trying so hard to resist it.
“Get up, Jade!” Claire sneered, her voice loud enough to echo across the grounds.
“Or is that all you‘ ve got? You are still the same stupid and weak omega three months ago. I told you I don’t like weak and stupid. What did you say to me last time? Oh, you yelled I would beat you up, bitch!”

Claire laughed like an evil.
“Well, this bitch still could pin you to the ground. Stop dreaming and go clean toilets instead!”
My jaw tightened. I haven’t heard Claire talk like that. She wasn‘ t sparring – she was bullying her. My mind raced, replaying the times I had defended Claire, stepping in whenever she claimed to be hurt or needed my help. But Claire used her position to dominate and belittle those weaker than her.
I hurriedly requested Claire and Jade to my office, causing the fight to end. Claire came with her sweet and gentle aura, while Jade looked defeated and hurt.
“Claire, what were you doing?” I asked immediately.
Claire looked at me, confused about what was happening.
“What do you mean, Alpha Kai? Didn’t you request me to train with Jade? I’m so sorry I

am not that very good, I know. I don’t really like fighting you know that,” Claire
answered, using her sweet voice that had fooled a lot.
I turned to Jade and asked, “How long has she been bullying you?”
“Bullying? Me? Alpha Kai, I think someone is lying to you. I had never done that,” Claire interrupted.
I hit my desk to silence her. I didn’t bother if she got offended. Claire needed to stop pretending and grow up.
“Answer me, Jade!” I shouted.
“Since… since three months ago,” Jade stuttered.
“Go to the healer and have your wounds treated.”
“Alpha, she’s lying. You have known me since childhood, and I would never do that. Jade, stop lying, please!” Claire interrupted again.

“Shut up, Claire!” I shouted, causing her to
break into tears.
“Go now, Jade”
As soon as Jade left, I looked at Claire sharply.
“I had watched you fight from afar for two days, I already know who you are exactly. I called you here and gave you a chance to be honest and apologize, but you didn’t.”
Claire gritted her teeth. The ruthless, cold, and bully Claire appeared.
“Yes, that’s how I am. But it’s your fault!”
I didn’t respond, and Claire continued.
“You once confessed you like me, and then suddenly your feelings shifted to Nevea. I didn’t know what you saw in her. She was boring, too kind, and nice. Then, I realized if Lacted kinder, gentler, and sweeter than her, you would soon return to me. Kai, you, and I are the ones meant to be. You are better with me, can’t you see?”

My eyes widened, but now it was clear to
- me.
“It was just a stupid crush when we were younger, Claire. I cared for you out of respect for your mother and my father’s order. But with Nevea, I had fallen for her authenticity, and she was my mate. And so, forget about me and get out!”
Claire couldn’t believe it and left running.
