“Mr. Levendor“” A voice called and I turned sideways. It was him–the same man who had gone to have more access to her than any other employee and I have no idea how that made me feel.
“You must be-
“James,” he answered sharply. “James Agrella and I’m Miss Nor’s assistant.”
I gave a small nod, scrutinizing him over and over again, Ed probably be seeing more of his face too. “Noted, James but I need to speak with Nor brown in person.”
“I’m afraid you missed her.“
I frowned and cocked an eyebrow. “Excuse me
His expression softened and the furrow of nervousness on his forehead disappeared. “You missed her, Mr. Levendor. She left to grabs lunch and I have no idea when she’d be back.”
My mouth felt the urge to form an O but I pushed that urge away and maintained composure
“If it’s really important and you can’t wait then here this is her card. You can reach her on her personal line too if her work line doesn’t go through
I reached for the card and took it from him. Nor Browns was boldly written on it but there was another interesting detail there.
“Isn’t this personal?” I asked, wanting to hear what he’d say. It was great to have her personal work line, her office address, and even her home address but I feared James wasn’t smart enough to know or to tell the dangers of giving anyone these.
“That’s a VIP card, he continued like he was reading my mind. “Not everyone has access to it but I just felt you may–”
The possessive spark in my chest didn’t mitigate even after his explanation. How did Eleanor end up working with someone like this? He wasn’t bad but I do not like him enough to trust him.

“That’s okay.” Imuttered and pushed it into my jacket. “How long have y
“For as long as Dis Cover has been in existence, I was right among the first employees she had and to be honest I don’t think there’s anyone more dedicated to her work like Miss Nor
I know that more than anyone else actually and to be sincere. I knew exactly what Eleanor was capable of achieving if given the chance.
“We have a track record of achieving possive outcomes for our clients. Mr. Levendor. We have the right expertise for each case. One time, Miss Nor singlehandedly uncovered evidence that led to the coraction of a high–profile felon and that wasn’t the first.”
He paused and after taking a deep breath, he continued. “Here at Da Cover, we believe that every case is unique and should be treated as such. We explore the use of various techniques just to get the desired results
“What are these techniques!” I chirped, eager to know if it was anything that I hadn’t heard of before.

By the time he was done talking, he was panting hard like a child who just ran in a r look like the type who can handle a crowd but he is good at one thing–conviction
He had the skills to make you want to try out something but the truth is, he didn’t convince me. Eleanor’s composure did.

“Impressive.” I wasn’t sure if my tone was giving the actual attitude but I didn’t give a fuck about it. I really w unanswered questions boiling in my mand. “You must be close to her then, no?”
“Miss Nor has quite some rules but uh–in the extent of what I know, I think we are close”
More questions spurred in my head. “Is the manned? In a rebrionship?”
I caught the look on his face and how he was badly contemplating if I deserved to know but also, I could tell he was trying so hard to impress me and that meant he couldn’t say no to my requests.

“No.” His expression was clear. His body language was giving him away and it was easy to sense the tension beneath the surface.
“How so?” I continued despite knowing what these questions were doing. “A lot of successful ladies her age are married”
“Mr. Levendor, I can’t be talking about Miss Nor’s personal life. Although I don’t know much, I know she’s not married. She barely talks about anything other than work”
I heaved. “I just don’t want to work with someone who can’t balance work and family. You know? My firm has a good success rate and I don’t want to mess it up by working with the wrong investigation firm.”
“Miss Nor knows how to balance work and life,” he assured. “You don’t have to worry.”
“Of course.” I answered knowing I didn’t have to worry about her having a new husband. She’s seeing no one and that was all I needed to have a great evening

“Thanks for this” I blurted raising the card as 1 strode away.
“Is everything okay?” Brad called as I returned to the car. I knew what was going through his mind. Each time I walked into that building, I always had a cocky smile on my face corning out
“Yes,” I answered. Brad has been working for me for years and I’m certain he’ll be as shocked as I expect when he finds our Dis Cover is Eleanor’s
“What’s next?” I asked him, being that Carlos hat
had given him a full overview of what my schedule is meant to look like and all.
“You have another meeting set up by Carlos with The Spies. If you think it’s too sudden, I can tell Carlos to make an adjustment to the time
“No,” I answered immediately. “There’ll be no need for that. I caught the expression on his face and I knew what was coming next
