“Mia, has this man already entered your heart so easily, all those years together mean nothing to you now?!”
I frowned, baffled by Xavier‘ s outburst, his bloodshot eyes filled with desperation were bordering on the verge of insanity.
Xavier closed his eyes, his heart heavy with the weight of his choices. The image of our once happily married life haunted him, a bittersweet reminder of what he‘ d lost- and what he might never have again.
“Yes! I was a power–hungry wolf who married you only for wealth! But that was before the marriage, later I started liking you Mia. I cannot live without you!
Nothing is lost yet, we can still forget the past, Mia you must come back with me. Let’s not go through with the divorce, okay? I am you one true mate, not this man!”

“Get away from her. Who gave you permission to touch my mate?” Killian stepped forth pushing Xavier aside with brute force making him stumble.

Xavier‘ s eyes filled with tears as he trembled, taking out our wedding ring that I had earlier thrown at him in the hospital, clutching it tightly. “Mia, please give me another chance.”

“Yes, husband. Our marriage registration has been completed.” Xavier stumbled back, his features morphing into shock and horror when Killian took out a red booklet,

Theodore who felt as if he was listening to something which was a dangerous secret.
“You fool! Don’t you even know that Mia is the only girl born in the royal family’s lineage said to be blessed by the moon goddess herself? There was a prophecy years ago that the first princess would have two mates. In today’s world where werewolves choose any person to bond with, it was only her who could have destined mates.”
Xavier took step back in horror.

The cool night air did little to soothe Xavier‘ s simmering anger. He was thrown out of the palace, his thoughts all intermingled in chaos when his gaze flicked toward the balcony, where I stood watching him from above.
“Mia,” he murmured. Under the moonlight, he looked a broken man, his gaze flickering as he cried.
At that moment he realized that nothing could be changed now.
He turned to see Theodore approaching, his expression a mixture of conflicted emotions.
“You need to let her go Xavier, you have already done enough damage and I have aided you.”
I lost everything but you still have your title to hold on to, if you keep clutching onto the princess, even your good memories we turn ugly.

With that Xavier turned around in tears and was gone.
In the dead of night, the ringing of my phone jolted me awake. Upon picking up the unknown caller ID, I realised it was Xavier’s mother.
Her tearful voice came through, to which I ask sternly. “What’s going on?”
Ironically, my ex–mother–in–law seemed nothing like before. In the past, she had always ordered me around and found fault with me, treating me as though I had seduced her son, and even going out of her way to favor Vanessa. But tonight, she spoke softly in hesitation.
“Mia.. No princess Mia, Xavier did not come home after returning from the palace? Did something happened there”
