Chapter 12
In the past year, I’ve traveled to many places and learned a lot.
There are ungrateful people in this world, but there are also many kind–hearted, sincere individuals.
I still remember one time when I was hauling grapes down from the mountains during a heavy rain. The truck got stuck in the mud, and local villagers, who had never met me before, came over to help push the truck out. They didn’t ask for any payment. Even though we were strangers, they still extended a helping hand.
Why bother dwelling on the small, petty things?

I had just finished picking plums on the mountain and was heading down when I saw over a hundred messages flooding the group chat for the second store.
Curious, I opened the video, and the first thing I saw was Maggie being slapped.
In the video, a woman wearing a mink coat was holding Maggie by the hair, forcing her to face the camera, while accusing Maggie of being a mistress who seduced her husband.
She claimed her husband was a successful businessman, and their son attended the same school. A month ago, she discovered that her husband had spent over a million. dollars on a necklace, so she had someone investigate and found out that the mistress was their son’s English teacher. That’s when she came to the school to confront her.

Maggie, tearfully, insisted she wasn’t the mistress. The woman yanked a necklace from her neck, saying if it hadn’t been given. to her by Maggie’s husband, Maggie could never have afforded it.
Maggie defended herself, saying it was just a gift to thank her for tutoring their son.
But the woman was even more enraged, accusing Maggie of bad–mouthing her in front of her son. She scratched Maggie’s face and tried to rip her clothes off.
Eric suddenly appeared and stood in front of Maggie, trying to protect her.
The woman then turned on Eric, slapping him and calling him a loser for wanting someone like Maggie.

Eric was furious, his face red with embarrassment.
In the end, the police arrived and took all of them away.
Some parents who knew Eric and I privately messaged me, asking what was going on between Eric and Maggie, saying they’d even seen Maggie go home with him.
I sent them a picture of my divorce certificate and told them that Eric and I had been divorced for a year. I didn’t hide the truth and told them he had cheated.
Soon, the group chat was filled with
insults calling Eric a scumbag and Maggie shameless…
I couldn’t help but laugh. Seizing the opportunity, I took pictures of the baskets of

It was time to make some sales.
After all, making money was far more important than romance.
That day, my sister–in–law told me that a child in our community had won an award in a competition and was directly accepted into an elite university. The child’s parents were VIP customers at our store.
Since I had just returned, I packed a fruit. basket and a gift to go congratulate them, while also promoting our store at the same time.
