Daisy’s eyes widened in disbelief, her face full of shock.
Her voice became sharp, almost piercing.
“He’s your son! How can you just stand by and watch him suffer without treatment?!”
“I picked him up.”
“But you’ve raised him for so many years! Viola! How can you be so heartless?!”
Daisy’s voice attracted the attention of the people around us, who started whispering in hushed tones.
I could hear the gossip spreading–how I, as a stepmother, was cruel and heartless.

I looked at Eden, no longer hiding the mockery in my voice.
Eden’s face turned bright red, and he shakily pointed a finger at me.

I pulled out the paternity test from my bag, along with photos of Daisy and Eden on their intimate dates, and slapped them onto his
