Early the next morning, I made an appointment to met with Jack.
“Here’s the child’s hair. Please, I need this expedited.”
Jack took the sealed bag from my hand, nodding seriously before turning and hurrying away.
Waiting was undoubtedly the most
exhausting experience.
Back at home, my mind raced; I checked my phone every few minutes, terrified of missing a message from Jack.

His words sent a surge of emotion through me, tears welling in my eyes.
I tightly shut my eyes, taking a deep breath to steady myself.
“Please take all this information to the police and file a report.”
After hanging up, I walked to the study.

He stared at me in disbelief, and when he read the bold letters, anger flared in his eyes.

I glared at him, tears brimming, “I spoke to the nurse who delivered my baby. My child is perfectly healthy; it’s not the stillbirth you claimed! You- you stole my child!”
My voice echoed in the study as I nearly emptied my lungs.

When he saw the determined expression on my face, there was a hint of hurt in his eyes and eyebrows.
“Sarah, Luna lost her ability to bear children. because of me. I owe her this. You’re a
woman too; you understand the pain of not being able to have children. Just pretend this child is dead, okay?”
Originally, Andy had an affair with Luna when they were so young, leading to an unrecognized ectopic pregnancy that resulted in her losing the ability to bear children due to excessive bleeding.
After that incident, Andy was consumed by guilt toward Luna and even vowed to compensate her.

“Sign the papers quickly!”
After throwing down that ultimatum, I grabbed my bag and turned to leave.
My baby was still waiting for me; I had to find her quickly.
On the drive, Jack called me.
He informed me that he had handed all the evidence to the police, who had already mobilized to apprehend Luna. He urged me to hurry to the police station to meet him.
