I stood among a group of people, wore a sleek yet simple outfit, my hair framing my face perfectly.
My team surrounded me, chatting and guiding me through the terminal. Cameras. from waiting fans and reporters flashed as they snapped pictures of me as a rising star Valerie.
As a result, Anthony did not dare to get out of the car and could only watch me from afar.

Anthony‘ s jaw tightened at the mention of Kingston. The name alone made his stomach churn.
Kingston was one of the most powerful and influential business families in the world- a family Anthony had always seen as a rival, though their industries rarely crossed paths.
The thought of Daisy being under
Kingston‘ s umbrella of protection only fueled his unease.
“Good. Book me a room at Kingston Hotel. Make sure it’s as close to hers as
possible,” Anthony ordered, his voice sharp.
“Yes, Sir,” the investigator replied.

He clenched his fists, a mixture of pride and regret washing over him.
I had blossomed without him, thriving in a way I never could while tethered to the Harris name.
Anthony‘ s phone buzzed again, snapping him out of his thoughts. It was his
investigator.
“Sir, the hotel room has been booked.
It’s on the same floor as Valerie‘ s, just a few doors down,” the investigator
informed him.
